How to kit bash a malanthrope

How would you guys kit bash to make a malanthrope? I’ve seen people do it with the flyrant parts but it’s alot shorter in the game and I want to make it a legal conversion without throwing him on a bunch of rocks.

...Do it with flyrant parts (specifically in my case, flyrant tail and fex body): never had a problem. It might be a bit shorter, but it's near enough: it's still plenty tall and a Character, so it's not like it makes much difference.

Maybe using trygons/mawloc tails, tervigon sac bits, some sort of carapace, and a venomthrope head?
The tervigon sacs give you the bulbus under belly, the tail will give you the height you're looking for.

It is basically a flyrant tail with a carnifex torso and a hive tyrant head with greenstuff and bits to make it more like the original model. I spent quite some time on it, but ir looks spot on, or so I have been told.

Carnifex torso (upper and lower) and head, tail extended with a hive tyrant tail, two pairs of warrior scythes, one pair of secondary ravener scythes, a buch of plastic spore mines and the feeding hiose of two heavy venom cannons, plus a few carnifex spikes and monstrous toxin sacs. And then whatever i can find as base decoration against which i can prop up the tail so it stands reasonably stably. Since taking those pictures ive replaced whatever that thing on the base is with some of the jutting rocks from a zombie dragon/terrorgeist kit.

Here's mine, I made a tall base with cork to make it tournament legal as it's exactly the same height and slightly bigger width than a Forgeworld Mally. The body is a trygon with a spare carnifex carapace at the top, I used the one with spores on it for more texture. Those spine vents on the back are from a venomthrope if I remember, as are the tentacle arms. The 4 upper talon arms are from the trygon, and the tail is of course from a flying hive tyrant. The head is a carnifex and the tongue is from some random tyranid bit I found, not even sure where it came from. Once I had it all together, I did a good amount of greenstuff sculpting to tie the bits together and give it that bubbling putrid feel.
