Question about Deliverance

Now I still haven't got to looking too far into this but have a very salty question about one of my old Favourite (in theory) detachments/formations.

Reckless maneuvre, requires you to roll after they disembark to see if they die on a 1. How is it the fanatical Neophytes are just THE WORST at this?

Hang on Boyz: from Orkz, allows you to ferry along another unit, with little to no restrictions (no charge) and no killing.

Rapid Redeploy: from Militarum, let's them do exactly the same as Deliverance, without any damage.

Precision Drop: from Scions, let's them do the same from a Valkyrie.

There are 4 examples of this type of stratagem in the book, and Deliverance is not only the worst, but also on a transport with 10 cap.

Can someone shed some light as to why it's garbage in comparison? I must be missing something important.

GSC is why. They aren't sure how good or bad it is, and are probably hesitant to give us anything that could be gamed after the Codex comes out.

Probably just because that's how it worked in 7th, when it was actually a good benefit because it wasn't single unit. Also usable on acolytes now.

2 CP and can't charge is pretty big. Also you can't use it on a transported unit, so you can't actually protect them if, say, you get 2nd.

Nope: it lets them do a literally better version . It also doesn't have the 9" restriction or the restriction on not being able to embark/disembark .

I mean, 1 CP to remove the mortal wounds from a valk. Big woop.

Eh, I don't think it's the worst as a strat: it's objectively worse than IG, about the same as Orks, and better than Scions. It's far more the context around it. If goliaths could transport more, acolytes were better and CA didn't exist, this could have some potential. But no: spending CP to dump a small, squishy melee unit by its lonesome isn't good. The MW is just the final nail in the coffin.

Sure: why the MWs then and not just the 9" restriction?

Thank you for clarifying that. I didn't want to just assume it was because GSC.

My next question was about the Sledge from Anointed. Is it seriously just -1AP? How in the hell is that a relic? Armies get stuff like removing - to hit, extra damage, boosted strength (relevant here,) and all sorts of manner of boost. I can't think of any relic weapon that someone slaps -1 on and it's good. What does that help? Literally making vehicles go from 6+-7+? Woopeedo.

I'm asking because I'm trying to not be salty but damn.. AM up to their 8th tricks of "sorry we do everything the best."

Yeah, umm...not sure what they were thinking on that one. I'm slightly hopeful that they just forgot something and will Errata it in like they did with the Ork WL trait*, but not exactly holding my breath.

*Orks had a faction trait for +1 A. And a default trait for +1 A and +1 S. Woops. Faction trait was Erratad to also give an extra -1 AP on the charge, so hopefully we get something like +1 A on the weapon?

Manoeuvre works on the whole (10 capacity...) Truck while Redeploy on just one unit, that's the sole "edge" I found. So we can use it for all (maybe even 3 of) the Iconwards on board.

-1 AP is one thing, but making -3 into -4 is negligible. It would be better on a Hypermorph's heavy improvised weapon but not here. Would be nice if it got buffed.
