GSC readings

So the Genestealers kiss is my absolute favourite thing in 40k. A single lowly Xenoform can condemn an entire planet. Not only that, but unlike the other Cults, the Star Gods don't give a literal %#&@ about any of their followers, and unlike the others don't pretend to.

What books are out there for the Cult? I have been looking for Cult of the Warmason, but have very little other than that. For the Greater Good was sort of pseudo Cult, but before it had been fleshed out again.

I want to read them all, but I can't seem to find if there is any sort of chronological release order on GW/BL site, or I'm just blind. Is there a resource that has them listed somewhere? If not, can we create one for Nids/GSC?

I don't think there are many good GSC novels out there. For the Emperor if I remember has GSC influences and For the greater good like you mentioned, which is good cause the Cain books are amazing. Spiral dawn and Hunger are the only other things I can think of... really if it's not from the Marine or Guard perspective it's hard to find anything really good.

Spiral Dawn is a very good book, not only does give a good way the cultists commune with the Patriarch, it does give some insight into there world even into the mind of an aberant. Not to mention believe it or not the cult got into the mind of a sister of battle.

Let me rephrase that. The Star children care JUST ENOUGH to not eat their worshipers first because that's more Biomass fighting with you. They all go into the pool after the fight. There's a quote about some kid getting his head ripped off by the very Genestealers he worshipped. Brings tears to my eyes..

The part I enjoy about it is, unlike the other Cults in 40k, GSC is not going to save you. They will not reward you with gifts of power, and you will no longer have any identity. The irony that the Faschist Boot of mankind is actually the easier and more peaceful way is beautiful. Who knew?

Technically you have the identity of family, until the Hive Fleet comes about. The GSC are one big extended family, afterall, what with all the inbred practices going on.

Also, the passage is about the Father getting his head ripped off by the Genestealer he sired. He recognized it by the battle paint markings he lovingly put on the dear thing, but the Genestealer didnt recognize his own father and just swiped the head off. We actually know Genestealers understand and appreciate human emotions like love and care, since the Spawn of Cryptus understood those kinds of concepts, in addition to concepts like entitlement and inheritance, jealousy, revenge, hate, and the other human emotions Nids are supposedly devoid of.

The GSC that managed to take over their worlds and not get devoured by a Hive Fleet have a marginally better life than under the boots of Humanity, so...

Now I want a novel about a rogue GSC cult that are trying to outrun their Hive Fleet so they can keep their free will and live peacefully

So like Chaos Cultists? I mean the whole point of signing up for the Kool Aid is you are manipulated into believing it is your salvation. I don't know anyone that would willingly flee from paradise. "Welcome to Heaven, where all your dreams come true!"
"Eh.. I'll pass."

What I could see is MAYBE the Magus let's it slip early that everyone goes into the pool, but chances are that's a need to know basis and nobody needs to know.

While GSC does take on some semblance of individuality and personality from the host species, they don't all of a sudden have human emotion and desires. These are essentially mindfudged slaves, that think they made a good choice.

The false hope is one of the best defining traits of GSC and something neither of the other Cults do. Daemons will actually get gifts of power. Ad Mech is given the gift of Crux. GSC is just a fairy tale of lies.

I do wish there was more literature on them. Such a fantastic amount of possibilities.

The carcharadons novel Outer Dark has some GSC action in it.

Steve Parker’s DeathWatch do have GSC infused world, Agent spy on cult and follow children that suspicion link to cult.

I was thinking more along the lines of a cult whose Patriarch/purestrains was a mutant and free from the hive control and didn’t wish to be reabsorbed, and took their family along with them to assist it in its travels

I find the books about 40K to be so hit or miss. I don't bother my time with them anymore. I keep my reading relegated to good books and my gaming to good minis.
