Wobbly model syndrome.

The Wobbly model syndrome rule is to help out models where you could place them but are likely to fall down right? But does the model have to have a chance to stand up on it's own to begin with in order to claim where it is on a piece of terrain? I mean a model on a 32mm base can physically be balanced on a penny sized pillar so you can claim wobbly model syndrome to keep it from falling off due to bumping it right? But can a player claim wobbly model syndrome to claim a model is being placed somewhere it can't actually stand on it's own? For example; climbing half way up the side of a building or standing on a large boulder with no place where the model won't just fall off?

The WMS rule itself is a deep "player agreement" territory. Both players have to agree to use it in every instance. Rulebook FAQ steps on its toes a bit with some instances of charging but the point that "as long as both players have agreed" remains. So, a player can request WMS pretty much anywhere but their opponent has to agree to it too.

No one really knows how this works. Trying to work out how to play levels and charges and how that relates to WMS is maddening.

Personally I count it as "The model is there" even if it isn't. So I'll hold it where it's suppose to be if my opponent is shooting at it or the model is shooting itself. As long as you and your opponent agree where a model is suppose to be it's fine. The worst is low rolling hills that basically no model can stand on cause they'll just tip over, as long as your opponent isn't being a dink there shouldn't be too much trouble, oh and also I don't usually count things like banners for where models can go, it's silly to think a model cannot fit in a ruin if his banner was too high because he could easily not have that banner then it'd just asking to model for advantage.

I get it, I do, but that's a slippery slope with the new levels of ruins FAQ.

In reality it's just GW screwing up ruins hardcore because well... idk. Ok so something cannot attack a model on the second floor? Ok well... I'm a carnifex so I'll just bring the second floor down to me! They're called claws, hellooooo! They're ruins not triple reinforced adamantium bullshittery

No wait I got it guys, how the Imperium beats the Tyranid threat make all buildings are so tall that tyranids on the ground are 1" away from you and you can shoot them until they die and they cannot do anything because the people in the building are outside of scythe range. It's brilliant!
