Hey all, so my group has been playtesting some ITC scoring style missions fairly intently. But largely vs me aka a nid player.
The missions can be seen here docs.google.com/document/d/1Dp9EFo1nEmhGiMblKd_94QMPlIJelgybxJdqdtnbL1E/edit?usp=sharing
Let me know what you think!
So far mission 1 has been my favorite having some AMAZING games playing it.
alternately if you wanna read here :
The following document details missions to be used for Warp Charged Gaming Tournament play. Bellow missions 1,2, and 3 are described.
All games are to last 6 rounds. Some missions will have preset tertiaries and deployment styles. Primary points will be scored at the end of each player turn, while secondaries are scored at the end of each game turn. Bonus points unless otherwise stated are scored at the end of the game turn.
When scoring objective markers, non-flyer units within 3” score an objective. If both players are in range of an objective, the objective is scored on a most models in range basis. Objective secured models override models without objective secured.
NOTE/event specific rule: If your army lacks a codex and your army is battleforged, treat your troops as having the objective secured special rule(as any other codex army would).
For instances of concession for whatever reason, for each unplayed turn the player not conceding gains 4 points per turn as well as the bonus objective if their army would be capable of scoring it(in terms of unit composition) as well as any tertiaries they could score(ex. They could score headhunter if the conceding player had characters but not if they don’t).
Tertiary Objectives- Most tertiary objectives can be scored a 4 times(to a maximum of 4 points). Unless stated otherwise they can be scored multiple times in a turn and at any point in a turn. Missions will dictate if they are preset or can be chosen.
First strike- An enemy unit must die in the first game turn. If chosen for a mission without preset tertiaries this is worth a maximum of 3 points, otherwise it is worth what the mission states.
Last Strike- An enemy unit must die in the last game turn(note, this can only be scored turn 6).
Headhunter- This is scored if an enemy character dies.
Behind Enemy Lines- For every two of your units in the back 12” of your opponent’s deployment zone at the end of the current game turn, score a point. Ex. 2 Units is 1 point, 4 units is 2 points.
Cleanse the field- for every 500 points of enemy units completely slain, score 1 point.
Center of Operations- If you warlord is within 3” of the center at the end of any game turn, score 2 points.
Defend the Front- Score a point if you have at least two units in you deployment zone, and no enemy units in it. This cannot be scored game turn 1.
Slay the Warlord - Kill the enemy warlord. The warlord cannot count towards headhunter if chosen.
MISSION 1: First Contact
Deployment for this mission is based on a D3 roll where 1-2 are Hammer and Anvil, 3-4 is Dawn of War, and 5-6 is Search and Destroy.
For this mission there are 4 2’x2’ table sectors as well as a single 2’x4’ central table sector. To score a table sector you must be the only player with any models in a sector.
Additionally a unit may only take credit for being in a single sector(the sector it mostly occupies. In cases where a unit is evenly split intent of which quarter must be established during the controlling player’s movement phase and is subject to change based on casualties).
ANY unit may claim a table sector (other than those explicitly stated to be unscoring such as spore mines).
As seen below the corners(sides with two edges of the board) are 2’x2’ sectors mentioned above where the central sector(top and bottom middle sections) comprise the 2’x4’ sector for the bonus point.
Primary Point-
Player turn- Do you control a 2x2 table sector?
Player turn- Did an enemy unit die?
Secondary Point-
Game turn- Do you control more 2x2 table sectors?
Game turn- Did more enemy units die than you lost?
Bonus Point: Control the central 2’x4’ Sector.
