Jormungandr 1500 pts list - friendly - need advice

I'm gonna play with this list on monday :

What do you think ?

why not change the mawclaw to a trygon with AG and juse JORMUNGANDR - Tunnel Networks to DS hormagants / devil gaunts and gene stealers to gether with the tyrant your could have some fun
and lose the warriors or DS the warriors with the trygon give them AG because you have a better chance of getting that 1st turn charge.
this way you could out flank your opponent . and take some cheap rippers to get those objectives

So i got beaten (craftworld eldar : 9 bikes, 5 reapers, i wave serpent, 1 crismon hunter, 2 farseer and some more units), here are a few thoughts :

- Deepstriking was denied due to smart deployment of my opponent, i had to "deepstrike" close to my starting area which made the trygon and the devilgant useless. The trygon was damaged by the wave serpent, and finished by flamer wraithguard. he didn't kill anyone the whole game
- Tyrannofex got focused turn 1 and reduced to its worse degrading profile, it killed 5 infantry units for the whole game, before he got finished
- Tyrant got erased on turn 2 after barely killing anything worth mentioning
- warriors sucks, both in shooting and melee
- broodlord... omg... spend 2 turns walking the whole board, and when given a chance to shine, missed all his wound rolls. 162 points for that ?
- the mawloc was the shining star of this game, able to mortal wounds units with ease; definitely a much better investment than the degrading trygon who hits much harder, but who's never offered the enemy units that he is supposed to kill

Aside from some terrible tactical decisions on my part on many fronts, the trygon and broodlord are definitely on my blacklist as expensive units who can't be easily brought into to an optimal position where they'll be a worthwhile investment

The trygon cannot chase the mobile units he is supposed to kill (tank profile), the broodlord is only interesting for killing characters, which are - if the opponent is any good - hidden behind screen and unnaproachable.

If i want to drop something , the tyrannocite is definitely the better option, and if i want to deploy an expensive HQ, the tyrant is the only decent option.

Notes for later : don't make deepstriking the obvious strategy of your list, forget the trygon and broodlords, and bring more long distance shooting units (exocrine, biovores, hive guards)

maybe you would be happier with 2 Flyrants and some Hive Guards instead of the Broodlord and the Trygon.

Further you could use 3 Raveners (maybe with Deathspitters, but i prefer to run them a cheap as possible) as a Taxi for your Devilgaunts. Still 69 Points + 1CP but you don't have to Care about getting that (please do not swear) giant snake in CC where it used to be.
I personally like to deepstrike 20 genestealers with the Raveners und only use naked termagaunts to screen my Hive Guards. For anti-screen i use the dakkafexes and maybe the Flyrants.

Also some Dakkafexes maybe 2, could really shine in Jormungandr.

just my thoughts:
Hive Tyrant Wings, Glands (5), 2 Devourer (14), Maw claws of thyrax, Psychic scream, Catalyst [189] - why the glands and the maw claws? without CC weapons he ist not going to kill anything. Just take monstrous rending claws + Devourers + Gland or just devourers.

Broodlord - did you remember to repeat missed wound rolls? His rending claws are actually really good. He cannot compete with the top dogs in Close Combat (no invulnerable save). But kicks ass pretty good as a supporter. 14 Genestealer are probably not enough. if you play 40 and they get his +1 to hit buff. That is when it is his time to shine.

14 Genestealers - take 20
20 Devilgant - the more the better. While they are good, sometimes just not worth the points (against custodes, death guard,...). I like them and always take at least 20
16 Termagant
6 Tyranid Warriors : 6 Boneswords 2 Venom cannon, 2 Deathspitters - venom cannon much too expensive for BF4 and D3 shots. Just keep em simple - boneswords (maybe some whips) and deathspitters. Their role is neither damage output nor tanks. Providing durable synapse, can kill a marine or two.


Trygon - I am also not sold on the trygon. But Mawloc is useful. Either as taxi for devilgaunts or just as destraction carnifex to deal some mortal wounds.

Tyrannofex Acid Spray - too much points at 1500. Almost a 6th of yout points doing nothing for probably 2 rounds. Therefore drop it in a Tyrannocyte. But then there are 120ish points more tax. So maybe forget it and take it in 2000 points lists. Usually you have to create a list around 1 or 2 tyrannofex.

so 188 points left. Maybe a neurothrope and make 2 detachments. Another mawloc? Or drop the 8 genestealer for something else. Raveners for a even cheaper taxi...
I do not know which models you own. You could play more termagants for more meat shield, hive guard for extra killiness...Exocrine (although a fire magnet at 1500 points).

I would strongly recommend not running gaunts in squads of 10, they will do absolutely nothing. Also the squad of 8 genestealers will not do much since they need 10 models for their bonus attack to activate. It also seems odd that you pick to run boneswords on all the warriors apart from 1 rending claws, from memory they are the same cost but dual boneswords are significantly better. The lashwhip/bonesword model is a smart choice though. The last thing is that broodlords are really expensive for what you get. You would need more stealers to take full advantage of fielding it imo. Also the rippers dont seem to be filling a role. I would gut out the broodlord, rippers, 10 man squads of gants and the 8 genestealers and maybe add the swarmlord and as many full (or close to full) stealer squads as you can fit. The broodlord can give freshly deepstriked units a movement in the shooting phase to garuntee a charge and is a beast in melee himself as well.
