Need help with a new conversion

Hello conversion experts! I'm new to converting models and I am looking to do some genestealer cult conversions for the Imp. Guard to add to the cult/nid army. I want to try and make everything more tyranids then human.

One such conversion I am working on is turning gaunts into weapons for heavy weapons. Removing the head of a termagant and shoving a cannon into it's neck for a lascannon for example. Doing the same thing with mortars

But one I need is ratling snipers. If anybody has any ideas of a way to turn a tyranid model into a ratling sniper I would appreciate it.

Sniper.... try ripper head? Maybe familiar from Magnus? Need more info.

Zoanthrope spare body from venomthrope may be best for heavy weapon team’s weapons. What the reason why you do not want termagant?

I am running termagants as heavy weapons. I was using them as an example, I will post pictures later.

A friend of mine suggested running ripper swarms with a spike rifle out of his mouth in a pile of something for a body.

"Keep it simple, stupid" is a very important thing to remember with this kind of idea. So with that in mind, simplest idea is hormagaunts, but instead of scything talons, fleshborers with extended barrels. Can use the deathspitter or venom cannon barrels from a tyrannocyte kit, cut/greenstuffed to fit with the fleshborer barrel. Easy to replicate if you want to add more squads later on.
