So I was thumbing through eBay some time in mid August when I came upon an international seller offering up a custom "Genestealer Cult Commisar" model, which could be made up to resemble a 4th-Generation Commisar or a different Commisar model entirely. Burning with curiosity I bought one, seeing as my Guard allies would need a fluffy leader, and seeing as I didn't know how long they'd be available, I bought two to be safe. They came in two days ago:
Nice packaging, they went the extra mile on these; they came from the Czech Republic I believe. Inside you'll see that:
The mold is honestly a little sloppy. Not a ton of space on the sides to clip off, and the model is positioned on a large bar for some reason. Lots of extra resin as well, which anyone who has bought Chinaforge will be familiar with. Now I don't buy knock off Forgeworld models, never even considered it, who would do such a thing, not me. But when I DO buy knock off Forgeworld models because let's face it we all have to in order to field that many Malanthropes, I'm used to having to clean off little bits here and there. Surprisingly, everything broke off super clean. Perfect breaks on everything and the excess took only a few seconds to remove. Not bad at all.
The fits are good, not 100% perfect but high quality. The model honestly has a lot of small details that don't show up here because of the camera. The claw is a nice touch and it even comes with a Needle Pistol, meaning this guy can be your Primus if you feel like mixing it up a bit. All in all, I'm glad I snagged two when I could. I'll post the eBay link anyone here wants it, or if it's even sitll up; haven't checked yet. But they're nice for anyone that is only doing Guard for their GSC allies (like myself). Personally, I really like it.
