Firstly I'm fully aware that on most forums adding new subsections is generally pushed back on as it often reflects short term desires or niche desires that tend to die off; or can end up adding bulk and spreading out activity instead of increasing activity in itself.
I am, however, proposing creation of two subsections for consideration as follows;
1) Project Logs/Fleet/Hive logs. We already have a couple of these in the painting/converting subsections (that they tend to leak into either one is a bit of a mess already as such logs oft contain both painting and conversion); and I'm aware that many people do run their own blog anyway. However it would be nice to encourage and provide an easy to check archive of player logs/hives/fleets, making it easy to check on long term projects and giving them a proper home on the hive.
Creation of a section might increase the chances of others starting up their own long term threads; and doing so means htat they don't get lost in a sea of painting/converting questions/threads.
2) Completed Conversions by type. Sometimes one wants inspiration and whilst Google Images can give a lot of great results, sometimes its nice to chat to whoever did it as well and see if they've any tips. We've loads of great conversions on-site but whilst search functions do work it would be neat to have a section (subsection listed within conversions) where we can dedicate a single thread as a show-case for members to post their completed conversions into.
I would suggest it be closed to new threads by members and instead open to posting only so that moderators can setup threads for each species (eg one for Swarmlord - Carnifex - Red Terror - etc....). Providing a quick and (over time) extensive display of completed projects. It also gives a neat way for people who have finished something to display their work where it can be more regularly viewed than just in the general threads where it gets some attention for a while and then the creation of new threads quickly pushes it down into oblivion.
To my mind the above two subsections would be about minimal moderation and about collecting and displaying activity which is already present on the site in a way which enhances the chances for such actions to be viewed by current and future users of the site with ease. Furthermore it helps take a little pressure off two sections and lets them really focus on just current projects/ideas.
