1850 Khorne CSM + Daemons

So, got together a fun (I think) list with my CSM and Daemons, but would like some feedback since I've never actually played a game with them yet. This is just a fluffy list for fun games with friends, but still don't want to severely hamper myself since we still have a competitive streak in our friendly games.

Yup. Just proxy a hell brute or even the maulers. Better in every way.

I prefer to think of them by the name SCORPION KNIFE (please do not swear) CRAB THINGS OH (please do not swear)!

This is good advise though, and I think a mauler makes a better proxy that a hellbrute for them.

Fluff wise, for sure. Model wise...a blood Slaughterer is real small. Make sure your opponent isn't going to be a salty (please do not swear).

I think there is a lot of fat in the list. Berserkers in rhinos are incredible. Daemon Princes with Malefic talons to back them up are better than nearly anything else in your list. I find bikers really not worth their points in this edition. Blood letters are bad. Crushers can be decent. The juggerlord doesn't carry his weight anymore. Terminators are worse than last edition. I haven't seen posessed or chosen do anything but die. This could all change when they new codex comes out in a few weeks. I have a fair amount of Chaos players around me (including my son) and have played 15-20 games against them so I have pretty good experience and I haven't seen those units perform too well.

The best lists I've seen so far is berzerkers with a greater brass scorpion, cultist and bezerker spam with khytan or renegade knight backed up by DP, and berzerker rhino rush with DP spam behind them. All 3 of those lists are really great.

His list was Logan on foot, Wolf Priest, 5 Wolfguard Termies with TH/SS and 1 Frost Axe, 2 squads of Grey Hunters, 4 TWC with TH/SS and 1 Frost Axe, and 1 squad of Long Fangs with 2 LC and 3 ML + 1 PG on the leader.

It's insane how many attacks you get on the charge with World Eaters. As soon as I hit combat enemy units just melted.

Blood Letters died in droves, but one unit with 6 BL + leader is 22 attacks on the charge and wiped the unit of Wolfguard termies alone, leaving my DP dumbfounded with nothing to attack. With their new cost at just 7 pts they're cheap enough to compensate for their bad survivability. Bloodcrushers died to TWC before they could swing.

Berzerkers were really nice. I was wondering if chainaxes would be worth it instead of chainswords, but in a WE legion you still get enough attacks. I didn't even get to use their fight twice ability. And this was just 2 squads of 5.

Kharn and Exalted Champion buffing Berzerkers was awesome. But gonna try with a Apostle. Kharn's 1" aura is a little too limiting, although I enjoy the fluff reason behind it. No 1s on to hit with Kharn this battle!

Maulerfiends were great firemagnets, and with Lashers giving them 11 attacks they gave a good bite. Their 4+WS is annoying, but at least it doesn't degrade.

Not going to bother with Chosen again. Why would I ever use them over Berzerkers? But it was mostly just because I finished painting them.

Really fun, but ofcourse it's the first game with them.

But an off topic rules question that came up: If I use the Pile In to engage a unit I didn't charge, in this case his Long Fangs, can they attack this Fight phase? I would say no since they weren't declared a target for a charge, but we just went with that they could at the time.

They could attack you but you can't attack them as you said you didn't declare a charge against, but they are engaged.

Yeah, after reading through the rulebook again, there's nothing stopping them from attacking me. That the charging unit can't attack them is very clear in the rules.
