Went through the index and priced up everything

Hi,

So I had a bit of time today and worked through the Index putting points to everything to help me plan my army. I thought it might be useful to others so here's the list.
I've tended just to put Scytalons rather than specify, assume it's the correct version for that unit, I also don't list tails if they don't have alternate options for one, if they do I went for the non-forced use option.
I've also pointed out the min useable unit for each.
This is without biomorphs.

These points are now correct, thanks for everyone who spotted errors.

If a unit already has a Scything Talons listed, does the price need to be added? That seems very counter intuitive.

I believe it does. The cost for most models says that weapons are not included.

And double check the termagants points. I could have sworn that they were 4 points base.

Normal Scything Talons are 0, all the other variants cost points. This is why a Mawloc is so much cheaper than a Trygon as it just has normal Scything Talons.

I count 164 points on the trygon with pincer tail.

Trygon 103, Pincer tail 1, Scytalons 60, Bio-electric Pulse 11= 175 so we were both out, edited.

Ravener with rending claws is how much? I didn't see that one on the list.

Why would ever not take a Trygon Prime for just 18 points more??

Oops, that makes it 214 so a 39 point difference. Makes more sense now.

They really didn't want to make it easy to work out how much your models cost in this edition did they. I checked these at least 3 times and still missed stuff.

I've gone and done the same with the crons, but only really for units I have or like the idea of, you can easily see why the have points suggestions of 1000, 2000 and 3000! What I generally used to take pointed out a lot higher (well 381 instead of 200 for a monolith I can see why), but it made it so much easier to have the units pointed up like this to work from, so thanks for doing this.

Anyone working on a starting 8th 'what's seems good and what doesn't' post yet? As I'm still brand new to nids I'd like an idea of where to start, bar what I have from the starter and swarm box sets plus some stealers, and even then I don't know how to setup my fex, tyrant or termies lol.

Randy, it seems like a lot of stuff is pretty viable. Nids get where they're going pretty fast and have a decent amount of synergy. I think stealers are going to be incredibly strong, which warms my heart because I love them, but you can do a lot of things in 8th that were just awful in 7th. My general advice is to play what you think is cool. You'll have a lot more fun that way and if you see that certain units are underperforming, you can adjust as you go.

Thanks, that's going to get expensive both in points and money then 😂 I like the idea of an exocrine, the swarmlord, a tervigon, trygon, and that's just so far, I haven't really paid much attention to other units. I'm going to magnetise what I have so I can try out different options to see what works and what doesn't, but I like what I'm seeing so far 😁
