Morning guys.
Thought I would do a slight unboxing / thoughs on the new shadow war box I managed to pick up.
So firstly the box is crammed full...I mean proper filled to the brim. Once I opened it I understood why.
More Templates & Dice....never a bad thing. Like that they are red....just a bit different
Sprues for the scouts and the orks. I've decided to keep both of these so I can make a number of different kill team. At the moment I have GSC Neophates, Guard, Scouts and now orks. As I truely believe this will be a Gateway game for new players i think it would be good to have number of different armies to try out if I was to host a few ppl coming over to play.
This is why the box was so big. The terrain looks amazing...an so it should. Over this next week I'm going to get this assembled. Its feels very stable and chunky.
Myself and a few mates and putting together three of these set next friday and do a small camapign. Have a few beers and gaming....life is bliss;)
And the rule book and assembly instructions. The crazy thing is i started playing Nexromunda 2 months prior this getting announced. Abit gutted as got a few gangs on ebay. But either way I already had a grasp of the game prior.
In terms of the games its almost idential to old school Necromunda...much to pleasure of veterans of the game. There are a few minor tweeks. The biggest one, for myself, is being able to pre measure at any point.. which i dislike....there was something funny about shooting...seeing your're out or range...and then gun blowing up.
The other thing is the campaign has been completely overhauled. This was probably because different armies scaled differently .....but think it has been made too simple now....for next friday intending to add a few additional parts to the campaige.
But all in all though the set is totally worth it. GW have done a solid with this set and one hell of a way to getting new players into the game.
