Another Biovore conversion from Hive Guard kit

Hey all,

I've been inspired by other attempts to build Biovores from Hive Guard and in order to get better with sculpting beyond some limb repositioning, I've started to build my own brood.







And a size comparison to newly arrived Pyrovores. She's bigger than the current old official model, but I am very happy with the result.


I've used spare Genestealer hands for the middle pair of hands, and the ammo sack and the entire weapon with about half of the upper carapace has been created from scratch.

The legs were repositioned into a lowered, squatting position.

The head was inspired by an old Biovore artwork, where the gun-beast had a wide and round head with a bony blade. So I've added an extra wide and round armor plate to the front half of the head, with a new blade made of plasticard and filed into the right shape.
I've made the lower jaw wider to compensate for the increased head armor. And the neck on the artwork was supposed to be longer, so I've added an extra putty and copied the details of the original. Or at least I've tried to.

I was quite happy after painting the finished model, but seeing all the flaws on the badly smoothed out sculpted surface was a pretty harsh lesson.

I am doing the second one with the lessons learned, and I'd like to make a full photo documentation of the entire process on the third one.

You know, I've never actually seen a biovore conversion before. You set a high bar, great job and easily identifiable. Good on ya.
