How to make some Cults using different race minis.

Sadly with me not working right now, just buying what I want can't be done. So I am thinking what can I do with what I have. I have a box of Tau Fire Warriors I think they are called. I also have a bunch or Orks and Dark Vengeance. I also have the Chaos old bundle as well. I don't think I can use anything from the Chaos old bundle but from the others I have said, can they be used to make some more Genestealer Cult members? If so, can you give me some ideas on how to do so. Maybe just paint them up differently or should I try using some old Tyranid bits I have laying around from broken minis.

I am trying to make the best of my situation right now. So since I have a bunch of minis not put together yet, can I use them for more Cult minis?

Now that my son is back from the hospital I can function more now and ready for more modelling, converting now and painting again. I guess I can't use any Space Marines or Necrons but what about the rest?

Any help with ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Take cultist or ork bodies, add GSC arms and heads. Should work fine.

For neophytes, just use straight cultists.

Sorry to hear your son was in the hospital, that makes it tough. Did you think about using bartertown? I've had good success trading stuff on there. Or selling things you don't want on ebay? I've had my fair share of family members in the hospital the last view years and ebay and bartertown were the only way I was able to keep updating my favorite armies for a while. Hang in there.

For hybrid orks i would consider using straight up genestealer bits to hybridize them. The larger scale might fit them better. Might be a bit too large even for orks, but I think that's better than too scrawny in their case.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the late reply. Depression kicking in and helping my son out, I almost gave up on this. But will take your recommendations and try them out. I greatly appreciate your help.

As for Bartertown Matt, I am not sure how it works. I think I will keep what I have I don't like giving up what I got even if I don't use it. It will aways come in handy later. Good thing going to get some unexpected money so here is hoping I can buy another box of Overkill if it's still available.

If you have Dark Vengeance you can easily kitbash the Chaos Cultists into Genestealer ones with a healthy collection of nid bits, I did these ones

Ork shootas with a blue or purple skin job = neophytes without the need for conversion.

Slugga boys with a spare tyranid warrior rending claw under the upraised arm that holds a choppa would work for the acolytes. Just drill a small socket to plug it into.

Chaos cultists require little to no effort to just be gs cultists...

Tau fire warriors make for good neophytes as well, just paint them in your cult colors. If you have an unused ethereal, you have a magus, as well.

Yeah, chaos cultists to the lowlevel GS cultists is easy. Scrape off any obvious chaos icons and lap on bits from the GS guard upgrade spru. Paint appropriatly.

Also I have 20 catachans that I don't want for my guard. I'm going straight cadians with my loyal IG, and I picked up the cats when they were the only plastic IG. (Oh god I'm old) so since the cad, chimera, GSC spru kit is such a good deal and my ig needs chimeras, I might pick up a few of those boxes and use the GSC spru to convert the catachans to bolster my GSC.
