Hormagaunt running cycles fixed

So it annoyed me how the Hormagaunt models do not represent one full run-cycle, but rather, a small segment of it (perhaps simplified as 1/3 or 1/4 of the total cycle). 

Having recently purchased my Tyranid army after deciding to get back into the hobby, I've decided to convert half of my Hormagaunt models (30 in total) to represent the following running cycles.
Though the process is lengthy...

I never even thought about it.

It adds to the variety and makes larger units less static.

Yeah. But I couldn't un-see it and it was annoying me. And I'd just bought the models so may as well have.

I absolutely love this build - it's so simple, but it makes a hell of a difference. Any tips for if and when I attempt this project? After seeing your pics I can't quite unsee it when looking at my gaunts

So your next project should be the Leaping poses

These conversions make them look SO much more dynamic. When you look at a brood of unconverted hormagaunts it looks more like they are just being dragged along by the scruff of their necks rather than actually moving. This simple reposing actually puts some life into them. Can't praise it enough.

Ah, thanks for the praise peeps.

It's simple enough to do for most of the poses. Things become more complicated when you want the legs to be stretched out, and have to cut each section of the leg up (into three), and turn the middle section around (so that it is straight).

Of course, have your pennies ready to glue to the bottom of bases so that they aren't falling over.
