Fixing hormagaunts

so I've got a lot of hormagaunts that have broken from the foot to the base. I've found that glueing them just isn't strong enough.
Does any one have another solution to this?

You can try pinning them. If you don't know, basically pinning is just drilling a small hole in the base, a small hole in the foot and then gluing a cut piece of metal (From like a paper clip, cut it with your clippers) between so it holds the two together.

If you don't want to go to that hassle, just use a stronger glue like superglue. Prop the model up with blue tac while it dries. Glue takes time to fully set and gets stronger with every hour.

I have a few like that as well and I can't imagine pinning hormagaunts, feet tooooo tiny. I smoothed out the bottom of the foot on some and just did the glue thing - gotta make sure the base is just as clean and use plastic glue so they get a good melt/bond. A few others I did a bit of superglue+GS modeling. Again make sure the connecting parts are very clean, then I made with GS some boulders for the gaunts to be leaping off of, pushing the foot a bit deep into the GS. Make sure you have a good system to hold things in place as the GS dries. I like old school erasers or cuts of cork.

Or you could pin the waist or chest. Just use a longer rod. Nobody's going to notice, and if they do just tell them it is a poorly designed model.

Whenever I have a Horma break I always pin the chest. No one has ever noticed. plus it gives them a jumping look so if anyone did say something I could just say I wanted a more dynamic pose.

I used a small nail to make all my Assault marines look like they are mid flight. Maybe you could use something similar to mount a gaunt and make it look like it is jumping.

Tiny nail, hole in the base, and some crazy glue.  I do put glue on both sides of the hole.

I then used a dremmel tool to make a divot in each Marines foot.  They balanced easily on the pointy nail and have been sturdy enough to survive a fall from the table a couple of times.

Those assault marines look awesome. Great idea with the nail to make them look like they're mid-air. Nailed this one.

Pinning horms seems like the right answer, but soo much extra work for shyte models you would play in bulk.
