I have been looking at Tau lately and came up with such 1850pts list:
Ranged Support Cadre formation:
FA: 5x pathfinders
FA: 5x pathfinders
FA: 5x pathfinders
HS: 3x broadsides (all with sms, hymp, ewo)
HS: 2x broadsides (all with sms, hymp, ewo)
HS: 2x broadsides (all with sms, hymp, ewo)
Riptide Wing formation:
E: riptide (ion accelerator, sms, ewo, velocity tracker)
E: 2x riptides
riptide (heavy burst cannon, sms, ewo, target lock)
riptide (heavy burst cannon, sms, ewo, velocity tracker)
E: 3x riptides
riptide (ion accelerator, sms, ewo, velocity tracker)
riptide (heavy burst cannon, sms, target lock, ewo)
riptide (heavy burst cannon, sms, target lock, ewo)
That's exactly 1850pts, two formations only, no obsec, no warlord traits (no characters), but healthy amount of fire power. This army spams 2+ save (pathfinders in ruins will have 2+ cover for shrouded), so overall good against shooty army like eldars, sms can catch warp spiders easily, there are some AP2 shots including rendings, so something that might force jetbikes to jink. Interceptor spam is overall good against podded centurions, gravs might be dangerous, but riptides might have 3++ rest can hug cover, against companies it should do fine as well. Necrons shouldn't be a problem with that amount of shots although tomb blades spam might be annoying. Should do fine against Tau, IKs and other armies.
What do Yu think? Is there something worth changing?
