OK, this is a game that will mostly be run through regular PM's.
You will choose an amry type to play (ie guard)... Try to come up with something interesting.... I need a decent background and style how your army functions. Also DO NOT feel you have to stick to the normal army that has a codex.... If there is an army that has enough fluff behind it that reasonable rules can be made for I will make them and you can play them.... And in the syle that they would fight, hopefully. Also you need a name for the leader of your army (and his position in most cases).
Ok, how it is going to work:
You will be given a certain amount of land you control....
Each "turn" for a person (there will be an oder) you can do several things. In a turn you will be given some resources (how this is generated will be different for each race, you will also have missions that will get you bonus resources when completed) which can be spent on buying units..... Some units will have special abilities (e.g. scouting) others will not.... Some units will be better at attacking than others, others better at defending, others will eb good at their ability (so say scouting) but if you use them in combat will probably die.....
Then each day you can make actions with your forces.... Your forces will be devided into different armies that deffend different regions you control or attack.... Then forces can be moved between them.... You can attack ONCE per turn.... The attack will be resolved by me (you just tell me who you are attacking and with what by PM.... I will let each person know how many casualties they have taken..... Then it is the next persons turn...
If it is your turn and you dont post within a day you will miss it out....
Im not sure how well I explained it but it should be made clear as we go along...
Note: THIS IS MORE A GAME THAN A RPG.
So to begin with I would like 4-5 players and the army you want to play as with some background. Then you will be PMed....

The armies will grow as the game goes on.... You will start with a specific amount of resource to spend to make your army..... (so everyone's is roughly fair).
But Im not making lists for every possible army so I need people to decide what they want to play.....

read his post on Battle for Garlira IV
i am using my Ozziemarines.
background: Little or nothing is known about the deep past of this fierce and courageous (chapter traits) chapter of the Space Marines, although studies of the gene seed has shown many similarities to that of the Blood Ravens, indicating that they shared the same origins, it also makes them seem more likely to be related as both have no idea who their Primarch was. The first recorded Chapter Master of the Ozziemarines was Donald Bradman (look it up), who was the first to wield the legendary Bat of Bradman, the ancestral weapon handed down through the chapter masters for Melania after Melania, and it bears similar ability and significance to the Sword of the High Marshals, used by the Black Templars. The current chapter master is Master Ponting (many Australian cricket references). The Ozziemarines' Homeworld is the great Australis, a world of illustrious beaches, dense bushland, hosting all variety of exotic wildlife, and expansive deserts, spanning far as the eye can see. In light of recent events the Ozziemarines have become very tight with the Grey Knights, and have worked together on many missions weeding out heresy and daemon kind threatening to poison humanity, since the great accomplishments of Brisingr.
Please note that the 'a' in Australis, not the first one, has a long sound, because of Latin origin, so it would be pronounced more as 'os-traa-lis'. that same goes for the term australian, when refering to the natives of Australis, so it's 'os-traa-li-an' not 'os-tray-li-an'
battle: the ozziemarines are relentless in battle and share a lust for close combat the rivals that of even the blood angles (their chapter drawbacks being Death before Dishonour and Flesh Over Steel). The Ozziemarine have learned to use their bolters single handedly, leaving the other open for a close combat weapon, this training is used to create two kinds of tactical squads, ranged squads, using standard space marine equipment and format, and close combat squads in which the entire squad posses bolters and chainswords. These cc squads nearly always posses veteran sergeants equipped with power weapons and storm bolters, and are the only squads with transports (except for those in the first company). Ever since the battle on Bachran (where Chief Librarian Brisingr received his current title) the Ozziemarines have worked closely with the Grey Knights, and with one Grand Master especially. Ever since that battle nearly all of the Ozziemarine sergeants and commanders from the first second and fifth companies have sported storm bolters in the same manner as the Grey Knights, and have since spread this training to the rest of the chapter. Another renowned feature of the Ozziemarines are their Assault Veterans (which are basically the same as the Blood Angel equivalents), these units comprise the majority of the first company.
Army Commander: Chapter Master Ponting At sunset of the 63rd day of the Mars Rebellion, Chapter Master Ponting of the Ozziemarines raised the legendary Bat of Bradman, and as he shouted one of his famous war crys “Shy not from the Emperors light! Show no mercy, no respite!” He led the charge of the Assault Marine corpse, consisting of nearly every single Imperial Fist and Ozziemarine assault and veteran assault squad, towards the heart of the rebellion, the Adeptus Mechanicus Academy. The space marines soon cleared the fortress walls, although many were lost to the defense guns of the Fortress Academy, and began slaughtering the traitors inside, although the battle was not easily won. Teleport beacons were quickly planted in the courtyard and the Terminators of the Imperial fists, led by Captain Lysander, teleported into the Academy. From this strong point the guns were broken and the gated opened. Land raiders were quickly loaded and pushed forward through the choke point of the main gate of the great building and the Ozziemarines and Imperial Fists pushed further into the Academy, and it soon came to pass that in the main chamber Ponting entered into a duel with the leader of the rebellion while the loyalists battled the traitors below. As the sun rose on the 64th day Ponting stood, the victor, over his fallen enemy the rebellion was crushed although his left arm was taken in the effort. As the last of the traitors were cleansed the surviving Adeptus Mechanicus fitted him out with the uniquely designed Reaper-Pattern Storm Bolter, as thanks for his great effort. (just the standard background story for you) As for his position; Ponting will always be at the head and heart of the charge into battle

Ok i'm in, i'll be using The Legion of Despair(my necrons)
Background
The Legion of Despair was often at the forefront of attacks led by The Dragon(a C'Tan). Shortly before the Necrons entered hibernation an enormous Eldar attack destroyed the core of the Legion and scattered the remaining elements. The force which is awakening on Arx was one of the only segments of the Legion which was not destroyed by persistent Eldar attacks. incidentally the leader of the force on Arx was the 4th highest ranking necron lord in the Legion(out of 78).
Leader
The name given to the Necron Lord on Arx by the Eldar translates roughly as The Spectre of Annihilation. One unique element of the Spectre is that unlike many Necrons he still retains the ability to speak and a shadow of a personality, however this is not based on the accounts of eye-witnesses because whoever was close enough the hear the Spectre speak was soon numbered among the dead. As he was one of the favored servants of the Dragon he was enhanced with numerous upgrades. The spectre can always be found at either the centre of his army or standing over the corpse of an enemy leader.
Tactics
Unlike many Lords, The Spectre realises the value of speed and quick strikes and will use mobile troops to his advantage, he will often use a decent sized core of Warriors,Immortals, Monoliths,Tomb Spyders and Pariahs to move up the centre of the battlefield and engage the enemy, while the enemy is occcupied with this force, he will do the following: Plylons will apear behind any enemy Super-Heavies and annihilate them, Flayed Ones will emerge from the ground beneath enemy infantry and begin to attack and Destroyers(Normal and Heavy),Wraiths and Attack Scarabs will move in from the side and annihilate the enemies flanks.

Ill be using the Borkan investigative expedition (my tau)
Background: During chaos incursion a small group of tau veterans was put together to investigate the ways of chaos. The group was successful that they were not disbanded after the campaign instead they were given the job of setting out and rooting out traitory inside the tau empire.
Leader: Shas’o Tauten a powerful leader and student of Farsight before his defection, although usually calm if provoked he is a fearsome sight to behold. Tauten is a veteran of many campaigns, his record is marked with hundreds of valiant acts, is belief in the greater good is unsurpassable. Equipment: crisis battle suit, flamer, burst cannon, drone controller, 2 gun drones
Tactics: The force is not overwhelming and prefers to outmanoeuvre its foes sending the mounted fire warriors move round the flanks while the hammerheads, broadsides, pathfinders and drones pin the enemy in place. The battlesuits are used as mobile reserves to plug in any gaps in the battle line. the kroot are positioned in front of the fire base and are used to engage any assaulters.

Ok, I might as well begining explaining how this works.
There are two kinds of actions, PASSIVE and ACTIVE.
At this point the only form of PASSIVE action is defending. This is done automatically each time an area of your teritory is attacked.
There are several ACTIVE types of action. These are, a redeployment, an attack or a special manouver (only some units have these, an example is scouting). You can only make ONE TYPE OF EACH of these ACTIVE actions.
ATTACKING: As many units from ONE teritory type can attack a chosen teritory type of another player. Within this there are two types of attacks.... A disperced attack (where you attack the whole of the enemies regions) or a concentrated attack (where you attack just one area of his defences). A concentrated attack will generally be more likely to capture teritory if successfull. A dispersed attack is more likely to cause more casualties in the enemies side if successfull.
For example if I was a player I could choose that 10 guard squads and 3 leman russes from my city teritory will attack eatalots plains teritory in a disperced attack.
I will then inform you of how the action worked out, the casualties on both sides and the teritory lost/gained by each side.
A unit that attacks can not make any further ACTIVE or PASSIVE actions for the rest of that round (ie untill it gets to your next turn). Note that this means that units that attack will NOT defend in the oponents next turns.
RELOCATION:
This allows you to move as many units you want from ONE of your teritory types to another. Should you do this the units that move can NOT make further ACTIVE actions but they can make PASSIVE ones (ie they will defend where they have been moved to).
SPECIAL ACTIONS:
This will be explained to each of you that has a unit that can perform a special action. If you perform a special action in a turn you can not perform another ACTIVE of PASSIVE action (so you cannot also attack and or defend after using the special action).
COMANDERS
Your commander never actually has an attacking or defending characteristic. Instead where he is benifits from his leadership and attacking/defending prowess in different ways. He gives a bonus to any ATTACK he takes part in and also any defence he takes part in. Remember that if he takes part in an attack he can not help to defend....
RECRUITMENT
This is how you spend your requisition points. In each turn you will generate a number of requisition points (dependant on teritory or other factors including missions you complete and special rules for your race should you have any). You can then "buy" units as you already have done. Any units that are bought for a location will defend it but cannot be used to perform an ACTIVE action.
Thats it for now..... Im still waiting on one more player untill tomorow and then we get started regardless.
Any questions?
