Seeking opinions on Malanhrope base

So I got my malanthrope and he didn't come with the nifty clear piece so I'm having to convert something to hold him up. Any opinions on what to do? My initial idea was a simple foam rock, but it might not blend well with the base he comes with. I could always scrap the base he comes with though and use my normal basing material for texture. I'm assuming it's similar to how people keep zoanthropes and venomthropes up as well. Any opinions?

Scrapping it and doing a custom gets my vote. Bend a hanger, stick it up the stabelizing hold, meld some foam rock around it and stick some weights underneath for counter-balance. Should be great.

I was leaning towards scrapping it for my own as well, asthe one he comes with doesn't mesh as well. I was looking at wires but worried they're be too flimsy so your idea of the wire hanger is perfect! Thanks for the suggestion rainbow. (Giving it a few days to flesh out in my head. Building a imperial knight in the meantime)

So why not email Forgeworld and ask for the missing part? They're usually pretty good about these things.

You could do that. Get both, then hold them side by side to see which you prefer. My vote still goes to scratch-built, but definitely get your bits.

That's assuming I got it from Forgeworld and not through a third party... Plus, scratch built is win!

Not ever Hive Fleet is a legit splinter off the main ones.

Scratch-built is always more interesting, and kit bashing, and modeling with green stuff. Go creative, like the Hive Mind with it's bio-morphs.
