So I'm looking for sizings of the Hive Crone. I'm currently unemployed so can't just go buy one and do it directly, and the nearest LGS is closed currently, so this falls to my fellow spawnlings!
Specifically, I need to know if the Nick Bibby Great Spined Dragon from 1984 is as big as the Hive Crone so as I can use it as a stand-in/Proxy within my Rogue Trader only Tyranid Army (Rogue Trader 40k is 1st Edition 40k for those not in the know). For the time the Tyranids had a largish number of models but no big beasties and whilst the armorcast exocrine/malefactor/dactylis/haruspex are all a thing, no flying mc's. Hence asking. To make it easier we have pictures!
Side View against a rogue trader rainbow warrior (yes, I'm getting good at painting 13 individual coloured stripes on those helmets now!), keep in mind the rogue trader space marines are slightly smaller then current models:
And here we have a top down shot (yeah you had to make the wing membranes by hand, that's gonna be fun - the Great Spined Dragon is considered the best dragon ever by most hardcore collectors and even by a lot of painters who don't focus on just GW - it's the face, such a crafty dragon heh!):
So, size wise will The Great Spined Dragon make a good stand in for a Hive Crone?
