I will begin by saying that this is a first rough draft and i'm still working on hammering out more details (story line wise, grammatical, detail etc etc... and canon wise)
I have done my research and have found a way to combine tyranids and necron without the simple thoughts of "I want them so *smash smash* oh look there they are=D"
I would like to hear all of your oppinions on this. (I am still working on it as well, elaborating on some of the story, as well as researching canon so as not to simply go "poof there it is" but have a more realistic creation of my fleet and dynasty.
I have learned that necron tech is compatible with biology through one of the space marine patriarchs (his arms are necrodermis from the ichor of a beast he slayed in his youth)
Necrons still have their bio-transferance furnaces. (i.e. Pariahs existence)
Necrons at least rudimentarily understand synapses (i.e. their synapse disruption rifles)
Necrons are looking to regain flesh as well as their dynasty (i.e. apotheosis)
their is a necron (dynasty?) that specifically is searching for the way back to flesh whether to posses the flesh of another race or to posses clones etc etc.
Orikan the deviner is hinted to have a great scheme that he has in planning.
Necrons may eventually regain their soul if enough become one with the hive mind. (shadow in the warp. shadow in the warp hints at some form of soul exists in the hive mind)
Tyranids contain all dna and the ability to splice dna as they see fit.
goals of tyranid (if could be called goals) is to consume all biomatter, adapt, evolve.
goas of necron are to restore dynasty, and succeed in apotheosis.
(I know i forgot to add some more info, but I can't remember it off the top of my head right this second)
Story start.
m41.997, the traveler is advised by the diviner to awaken the noble house of (name) on tomb-world (name). informing the traveler that the young lords (in comparison to the other dynasties) experimental goals were predicted to awaken soon, but would be under siege almost immediately upon the revivification process and would not survive the awakening without his assistance. though deemed eccentric as far as the necron are concerned, the lords of this tomb-world were well developed in their prior studies of their organic enemies. and so as the diviner and the traveler passed through this sector of the ultima segmentum they entered the tomb-world, each reactivating the whole of the tomb world and setting up immediate defenses to what the diviner described as a horrendously bloody battle to come with a glint in his eye. as the tomb awakened, a great energy began to set off a beacon of sorts, drawing forth first eldars having been watching the world as a suspected tomb-world, and then orks, sensing a waaaarggh was at the source of the beacon. as the tomb began to come under attack the diviner informed the traveler that to win this battle all that must be done is to keep the myriad xenos from reaching into the tomb, that the traveler should continue to awaken the rest of the tomb and set priorities on the lords within who would surely produce more soldiers to resupply any losses incurred. the eldar began their attacks against the necron tomb, but taking small damage from the guardians of the tomb and the troops of the diviner and traveler. as the eldar neared closer to the entrance of the tomb the diviner pulled back all the units except swarming scarabs to distract the eldar into thinking they were succeeding as a calamitous den began to rise from behind "ere we go ere we go" "wwaaaaaarggh" as the orks smash into the rear of the eldar the tombs now awakened immortals fire into the eldar and the orks alike with the orders simply to aim for anything that looks like its a leader. as the massive amounts of orks began to wash over the dwindling eldar the skies began to darken and scream as tyranid spore pods crashed through the atmosphere a midst the battling orcs and eldar. the traveler having succeeded in awakening the whole tomb rejoined the diviner followed closely behind by the overlord and his entourage of nobles. the overlord kezdet greeted the deviner as they observed the bloody battle on his doorsteps. he showed little interest in two of the xenos having seen captured and studied the eldar and the orks 60 million years in the past speaking to the deviner he asked, what the creatures were that drew the attention of the eldars and the orks alike. the deviner said that they were a gift that the deviner read in the stars to bring to the overlord, as he shared the knowledge that he was able to gather on the tyranid species. the overlord gazed upon the bloody battle and saw a possible hope for his kind as a hive tyrant cut swathes through orks and eldar alike. he requested that the traveller and the deviner assist him in quelling all the xenos that disrespected his home by waging their battle on his doorstep, while he attempts to capture several types of tyranids for his study and experiments. as the deviner and the traveller took command of their units each felling many orks, tyranids and eldar alike the overlord comanded many scarabs to surround and incompacitate several targets such as several warriors, and hormagaunts. as the scarabs went and targeted their objectives the overlord ordered the rest of his nobles to lead their own squads of immortals and warriors to capture the tyranids targeted by the scarabs. the overlord then commanded a squad of lychguard to accompany him leaving the rest of his forces to the command of the deviner and the traveller respectively as he set forth into the battlefield extinguishing all in his path towards his goal, a rather large and fearsome hive tyrant that was tearing through waves of orks with its hive guard. the overlord and his lych guard having come within range of the hive guard from behind began fireing many rounds into their legs and the joints of their shoulders, effectively ceasing their ability to continue battle, and if they survived their damage later be retrieved for more studies and experiments. having succeeded in separating the tyrant from any reinforcements the lychguard began their attack on the tyrant with the intent to capture the beast alive, as they struck at the tyrant causing it wounds from minor to adequate, the overlord confronted the tyrant using a death scythe engaging it in battle with his lychguards. as they battled, the tyrant managed to put down the lords lychguard, but sustained a measurable amount of damage itself. as the rest of the battle was coming to an end with the necrons routing the xenos and the eldars and orks breaking out and retreating the overlord captured the injured tyrant in a tazzeract labrinth. he proceeded to the entrance of his tombworld slaying all that crossed his path, in the distance he could see the remainder of his nobles and squads returning with their earned prizes as well bound and being drug into the labratories holding cells. he thanked the traveller and the deviner for their assistance, rewarding the traveller several destroyers from his army. as the traveller left the deviner requested that the overlord keep him included on how his studies commenced for their results were sure to intrigue him, and then departed. thus as the months went by with the tombworld appearing to have been destroyed from the battle due to its inactivity the eldar came no more, the orks having lost their leaders had retreated back to their sector and resumed their orky doings, and the splinter fleet slipped away to gather more biomass elsewhere to restock what it had lost. the overlord began his studies on the captured tyranids theorizing that he could place the consciousness of his people into the flesh of these hardy and adaptable creatures, having completed his studies of their biology he began his tests on the hormaguants of adding the necron technology into their biology similar to how the pariahs were made, but with the goal to make them as indestructible as the necrons without replacing their forms in the semi failed way of the pariah. after two years of percieved inactivity the overlord and his nobles successfully completed all their studies and tests, managing to integrate their living medal into the adaptable tyranids creating a living warrior that would be suitable for the necrons to insert their will into like meat puppets. with only the final stage of actually reversing the bio-transference process of putting their will into the flesh the overlord hailed the deviner summoning him for his advice and assistance. when the deviner arrived the overlord informed him of his success and his plans to insert himself into the flesh of the tyrant. the deviner said that he would read the stars and advise the overlod and his chances and anything else that he could come up with. hearing this the overlord went to the cell where he kept the tesseract labrinth and had the entire cell prepared to subdue the beast and begin the tyrants upgrades in preparation for the morning plans. through the night the roars and screams of the beast could be heard throught eh halls of the entire tomb enciting the rest of the tyranids to become agitated in their cells and come morning the beast was a living embodiment of the necrons grandest technology. the deviner spoke with the overlord of what he had seen in the stars and informed him that if he was going to inact his plans he had best do so very soon and or wait a lengthy time for upgrading the tyrant had sent a beacon and was drawing its splinter fleet back towards the tomb world. hearing this the overlord decided that it would be best to enact his plans immediately with greater plans to follow should they succeed. he spoke with his (2nd in command title) lord cretrel and bequeathed his position to him trusting few as much as he trusted him, and the proceeded to the chambers that the tyrant had been moved to in preparation of inserting the overlords will within the tyrant. the beast was then placed into the reverse engineered bio-chamber as the overlord strapped into his chair for the process to begin. the deviner and the overlord's nobles and new "overlord" initiated the process and the overlords consiousness was ripped from the living metal of his body and flung into the mind of the tyrant. from the view of the nobles and diviner the overlords body simply collapsed, and the tyrant went first very still, but then it began to roar for what seemed to last forever until it too collapsed as well being very still. the nobles and deviner looked on with impassive dead stares. but from the overlords view he seemed to be in a dream, floating in a great void until he began to hear a buzz, and the buzz grew louder as he looked into the distance a great many teeth, claws, and screaming hunger washed over him, dragging him with the swarm of minds, tearing at him as he fought against the torrential wave of the hive mind like a fish trying to swim up a stream of blades. his form was being eaten away and finally he refused to fight against the waves and instead began to flow along with the rest of the chitining minds, as he flowed with them his mind and form began to repair themselves and he could see that the swarm was flowing into the form of a immeasurablly large circle with a quite space of solitude in the center. he passed through the shadowy minds of darkness, seeing brilliance spark to life and die periodically within their shadow throughout. several of the shining rays were colored and seemed not to vanish at all. he entered the space of quite and as he did the minds in the darkness closest to him stopped as one staring into him as if waiting while the rest continued to flow around the space endlessly ebbing and flowing. the coalescing shadow minds in front of him began to part as one of the few illuminated things came to the eye of the maelstrom. the overlord stared at the creatures mental image as it shifted from one creature to another being a tyranid, then an eldar, then an ork, then space marine, and then into a multitude of known and unknown sentient creatures. as he stared it began to speak, though its lips not once moved and its voice a menagerie of trillions of souls echoing through the overlords mind. "we are the swarm, you are not we, not one, yet you are now a piece, a part of us. prove yourself lest lose all self" as the voices all came to silence once more as a new light emerged from the swirling mass, a mind that had been through countless battles always learning, always adapting. the thing took shape and before the overlord was the swarmlord the hive minds general. without warning it lashed forward and engaged the overlord who struck back with his metal fists, he wished he had his death scythe to defend himself with and materializing out of thin air, there it was, astonished the overlord wielded his weapon and parried the swarmlord, their battle seemingly lasting for eons and a blink of an eye all at once. as their duel continued on the overlord was constantly on the defensive, guarding from the swarmlords four boneswords. the overlord could hear the swarmlords mind all around him as wel as within his own. "you are not the swarm, you shall be devoured" recalling how he had upgraded the tyrant that was to behis new corporeal form the overlord's body began to morph as he grew another pair of arms that were merged at the end with swords of his own glowing with guass power laced through them. both these titans of power continued to clash yet despite the overlord regaining his footing once more he was being pushed back towards the still edge of the hive mind swarm. has he came near the shadows he could feel their individual hungering as some reached out to their essence in attempt to consume him. the overlord deflected a particularly vicious attack and with the attempt to merely cease the minds of the lesser tyranids from striking at him he ordered them in a voice only a leader could contain to "cease and be silent". to his surprise they obeyed. he could still feel their hunger but they remained still, the overlord began to glow with an eery dark green as he ordered the nearest of the hungering darkness to strike at the swarm lord, again to his amazement ten of the shadow minds broke from the rest to strike at the swarm lord. the overlord followed in their wake to strike at the swarmlord as well, yet as the ten minds were about to strike, they faltered, pivoted and struck towards the overlord instead only to be commanded back into the ranks of the shadows once more by the overlord. the battle continued on with the overlord parrying and dodging while trying to think of a way to best the beast without being absorbed. chittering away within his skull distracting him from his battle with the swarmlord he let go of a portion of his restraint, partiontioning his mind, accepting the hive mind within himself. he could feel the hunger and see through the eyes from countless worlds being ravaged by the swarming tyranids and could feel the actions of the swarmlord as the swarmlord commenced each attack. embracing the swarms adapt or die and its hunger he lunged at the swarmlord now semi one with the hive and yet still maintaining his will through the partition in his mindl. dodging each strike knowing exactly what and when the swarmlord inteded and striking back until both titanus wills were haggard and weary. they watched each other across the empty space each now glowing their own shades of light, and then the overlord knew he was one with the hive as the swarmlord stared into the mind of the overlord and the overlord stared into the true shadow of the warp, he had found his solution to his entire races blessing and curse. the blank slates that was the majority of the tyranid would allow himself to live immortally in flesh that could be changed and adapted at will, no longer would there be wars amongst brothers for they would all be one and separate at the same time. coming to this realization he knew that the hive knew his goals as well. the hives champion once more rejoined with the rest of the hive as the will of the swarm accepted the overlord as one of the hive. the deviner and the nobles looked on as the "hive tyrant" seemed to regain its cognitive funcitions. they sent a low rank necron into the chambers with a device deesigned to determine if the will of their overlord was within his new form. the overlord attempted to speak but all he managed to expel were deep grunts. annoyed he looked at the warrior and the device it carried and nodded his head towards it. the nobles and the deviner instructed the warrior to set up the device, and began the protocol that the overlord had put in place to insure that his mind was confirmed in possesion of his new bio-mechanic body. the overlord used the device and began to communicate the first keywords as proof of his possesion. having completed his tests the deviner and the overlords nobles attended to the overlord as he briefed them on his entire experience adn future of their race should they succeed. they would start small summoning the splinterfleet already on its way altering the entire fleet to the enhanced form with necron technology and they would begin transferring the minds of some of the lowest class to obtain more data for their apotheosis and free their minds from their mechanical state. thus the necron tomb world joined their forces with that of their overlord as they began to consume entire worlds matter to provide resources for both the bionic and techno-logic parts of their army. the overlord knew, that to restore their flesh, their souls, and their dynasty would take time, but what is time to immortals.
