Vs. Eldar v6.1

We have been doing some testing with Eldar against Nids. The lst game the Eldar was

The mission was relic. The Nid list was typical Skyblight ...

So neither list would really be considered optimized but both have some very strong elements. This although it seems a bit tailored was not.Warp Spiders will take down a FMC - I guarantee it. He went after the Reaper Flyrant as a priority. Now he rolled prescience scrier's gaze (so good in his list) and foreboding. Nice, i know. That said the game was very close. Even with a pile like that list Eldar just have a lot of very decent rules that make them tough. Of course gargoyles with secured objectives are nasty but getting and keping the relic is not that easy. He went for FB, Warlord, Relic and linebreaker. Those were his focus in that order. Noew Crones were frickin' amazing against him but the rest of the list was not so super. As I said thr game was close an you would think that Nids should have run over that list. But it takes a lot to down three Knights. No toxin hurt. His ability to redeploy and move quickly were a problem. I don't thinnk there are easy answers for any Eldar list, TBH.

What is the best way to handle a wraithlord? My regular opponent brings two and I've always had trouble taking them down.

BL devs arent really enough since they wound on 6 with no ap. I'd try poison but the things are good at keeping their distance from things they don't want to fight and as long as their not in combat their lances are killing something important in my army.

Thinking about the exocrine, if it doesnt move it should do about two wounds a turn.

Wraithlord or WraithKnight?

Either way, a big flock of Poisoned Gargoyles is probably your best bet. They're fast enough to corner even a WraithKnight, and Blinding Venom is hilarious when it works there.

What were you playing? That would obviously make a big difference.

Vypers hit hard but have paper armor. AV 10 dies to pretty much anything, but you can always just shoot at them, force them to jink, and then move on if you don't kill them.

For the Jetbikes, you actually need to kill them because they are OS. Was he reserving them or did they start on the field?

I don't understand the make him jink comment. He intentionally moved his units to get a jink bonus but fired at me regularly... Is he only suppose to be able to fire snap shots or something?

you don't have to move to have access to jink anymore. if you use jink, then next shooting phase the vehicle can only snapshoot.

Yeah, that would make a big difference. He should only have been snap shooting at you, which would remove about 2/3 of the hits on your Nids (a little less with TL, but pretty close).

Also, I see you have warriors with boneswords. Those are pretty expensive and not very useful against Eldar. If you can swap them for Devourers, you would probably do more damage, plus save a few points.

Not a big fan of the Trygon prime, either.

I will never run the prime again. Wanted to try it, learned why it's so bad. Sorry, that's a barbed strangler per squad of warriors.

He definitely jinked and did not shoot snap shots. We were playing 6th ed rule. I couldn't find a page reference for the rule. Is this a 7th thing or somebody have a 6th ed reference?

it's under the jink rule in the BRB. note that this does NOT mean that if a transport jinks, that the passengers must snapshoot the next turn as well.

Ah, gotcha. Barbed Stranglers are good, I run them too.
