Darkness. Your world has gone dark. The world you knew just died. Gone in the blink of an eye. All around you is darkness. Then, Light! Glorious, dazzling, Blinding light, and then suddenly, the owrld returns around you. Only, its not Your world. Your on a cold, hard metal bed with a visor over your eyes and a drip in your arm. all around you is cold, dull grey metal. There are people everywhere, all sitting up, like you. People you know. People you've never seen.
Someone screams.
In a second, everything is gone. Everyone is screaming, running around, pulling the Drips from their arms, tearing the visors off. Everyone is dressed in the same thing, a dull grey one-peice robe, and matching undergarments. its like a hospital room... only not friendly. Not friendly at all. Here adn there are empty beds, covered in blood and scorch marks. Chaos all around.
What do you Do?
---------------------------
ooc- My only rule here is that you've all got to meet up somehow. Go nuts, literally if you want. But You'll be working together if it kills me.

Lucabella was one of the slow ones to get up. Bewildered and alone she sat up throwing away the visor to see the bedlam that was before her. She grabbed her legs curling into an upright fetal position, "Gale...gale..where is gale..." She began to cry into her legs right before she felt herself thrown forward off the table. She hit the ground with a crack and let out a squeal of pain as the tube was ripped from her arm. She turned over to see two males towering over her coldly, calculatingly smiling down at her prone form. She let out a squeak as she stood up to run. The first one caught her by her long, blond hair and pushed her down against the side of the table she'd come from. The other tore at her robe while the other held her arms in a lock.
Gale was slow to wake as well. He felt a dull sense of rage and disturbance at the world. Slowly he turned left and right on his table looking at the people. He briefly entertained the thought of staying there and rotting, what was the point of movement without Lucabella there for him. Still, the tube was hurting his arm so he pulled that out ignoring the pain. Then he heard it, the screaming voice. He'd never heard that tone of panic in that voice before. But he knew the voice well, and it was calling for him. He pushed himself from the table looking all around for the source. Then he saw the scene that wanted to unfold where Lucabella was. He began to push through the crowd of bodies throwing elbows and kicks to push people aside.
It was difficult, and he could feel his rage mounting as he heard her continued screams. Right before either could begin to defile Lucabella the one holding her arms felt a tube tighten around his neck and a moment later he dropped to the ground, dead from a broken neck. "Gale!" She shouted with unfathomable joy and security. The other man had grabbed her wrist jerking it so hard it snapped. She cried out as Gale lunged over her colliding with the man. His fist pounded into the man's head until it crunched sickeningly. Lucabella was too busy nursing her wrist to watch this.
Gale hadn't been in a cold rage as his fist beat the man to death. He could only think her name over and over again and when the blood sprayed against his chest and face he could only smile. He turned towards Lucabella who was holding her wrist and looking like the picture of a damsel of distress with her torn gown. Gale moved to step towards her only to feel the cold thunk of metal against the back of his head. He doubled forward as a young blond man moved towards Lucabella, "Come on, run before he gets up." She screamed and struggled against the young man as he dragged her off away from everyone else. He took it for hysteria at her near rape and witnessing Gale's brutal murder of the two men. As they fled the room Gale reached for her before he passed out, "Luca.." Then he was out cold as she gave up struggling to sob as the younger man dragged her along.

(OOC- "But You'll be working together if it kills me." Ivan might have something to say about that ouo)
Ivan woke up chocking. Deep, lung filled coughs that would have spewed water all over the floor if it wasn't for the fact there was none to throw up. After a while the wrenching turned to sobs as the sterile smell invaded his nose and the noises of people echoed around him. On the verge of tears the scraggly teen reached up, teeth bared, to rip the visor from his face before flinging it at the floor though it brought him no inner peace. No small amount of settlement like it was for the others in the room.
Bringing up his palms over the eyes he still refused to open Ivan rolled onto his side, bringing up his knee's to his chest as one question burned in his mind until nothing was left: "Why am I still alive?!" That was when the scream came. Full of hate and pain, the primal sound surged from the quiet boys usually unused throat causing it to stretch in ways that left it feeling raw and violated.
After his lungs gave out Ivan descended into another wave of dry sobs, blood starting to ooze from where his finger nails dug too deep and the tears still refused to come. It wasn't until even more screaming picked up did the boy part his fingers enough to gaze with finally opened eyes at the things he hated the most out of everything in existence, their sweat covered flesh a insult to his eyes, their screams nothing but annoyance to him. They where nothing to him.
A choked cry to his left caused Ivan's eyes to suddenly snap up, locking eye contact with a woman which by normal standards would probably be very pretty though to him she was as bad, if not worse then the rest. She gave another whimper as she extended a hand towards him, her eyes full of panic as they pleaded for help. Slowly Ivan took his hands away from his face before sitting up, still looking at the woman. As he rose it became evident what was wrong with her. Blood poured from her arm like water from a burst dam, the cause a hurriedly pulled needle that still hung by her side.
The woman continued to stare at the pale boy as he took a moment to inspect himself where he sat, his face always set in the same neutral expression that only just showed the signs of a livid frown. When Ivan was done he carefully removed all the tubes from his arms and looked back up at the woman, slowly pulling himself forward so that his bare feet met the blood soaked floor. Ignoring the warm substance under foot he moved forward to stand over the woman. Considering her for a mere second he then turned his attention to a clear bag that hung above her, taking it down before looking at the clear substance with in. When he seemed happy with the bag he turned on his heel, leaving the woman to her own fate.
"Please..." The gasp caused Ivan to stop but he didn't turn back.
"Nothing." He repeated the word coldly that had constantly echoed in his head for months before setting off again, leaving a set of bright red foot prints behind him as he skirted the crowds. Bag in hand he started to make his way the the closest wall, his goal simple: find water, and lots of it.

(this is right before they awoke) Ian looked over at his aging wife; her sagging, once-beautiful traits glowed with contentment which reflected his own. "I think I might juss go have a lie down love" Said Ian in an at-first squeeky voice, breaking to its normal deep tone by the end of the sentence. "I hope you get those damn nigh'mares outta tha way, your mumblin' and tossin' and turnin' had me up all night." His loving wife joked as she moved into the kitched to cook up a meal. She wasn't wrong though, he had been having some really strange dreams recently. "Well I'll juss have to pray to the lord that of juss that, honey" He passed her as he moved to his room. He must have been tired because he didn't even remember getting into bed.
(ooc - the event happens)
Ian had no idea what the halabaloo was all about. He felt something on his face, there were the sounds of people screaming all around him, instead of his bed, he felt more like one of those hospital's excuses for beds. He laid there motionless for a while, waiting for yet another strange dream to pass. But it didn't. He felt not as iof he was asleep but if he just woke up. What's impossible. He finally moved his hands up to hishead to feel this visor across his face. It was a struggle but he was able to reef the contraption of his face. He sat up with a whince, he is not as fit as he once was.
"Good lord, what was going on here? Did he die and this was hell? People in grey coming f=off hospital beds Ian was on a hospital bed himself. He tacked the canular in his elbow and got up, looking around at the constant ruckus. He too started to panic, looking for his dear wife, crying out futilely drowned out by the crowd's cacophony. He prayed that he's find somebody he knew but the crowed was a blur of activity. He just found the closest empty bed and sat tight until he knew somebody he knew.
He then saw a kid that he knew, another one of these lost, soulless delinquents that roamed the city. He knew this one because he was one of the ones who always like hanging around that artificial lake near his place that he liked to take an evening stroll. He seemed to never hang around the same people for very long, probably one of those kids who were friends for as long as it took to get them to bed or were out of drugs. Although he seemed a little lonely for that.
His preconceptions of the young man was irrelevant He knew him and that's all that really mattered. He was with some girl with no hair, they both looked like they needed help. Ian was a good, god fearing man - he felt it was his duty to help these kids from whatever insidious plot was happening here, probably the devil's work. The young man was already heading off though, Ian needed somebody who wasn't a crazy mess. He chased after Ivan, struggling to catch a breathe.
"Come 'ere boy!, You alright? What's happenin' here?"

The young man paused as he'd come to a door. He could hear the rabble from the hallway already and Lucabella was heaving with sobs as she held her head and continued to moan in a low voice. He decided then that if they were going to go on he'd have to convince her to move with him. He could see a young man with a bag in hand approaching them, and right behind him was an older, dark skinned gentleman. He crouched down next to her grabbing just above her elbows and forcing her to look at him, "Look at me." Tears caught in her eyes as he held onto her, "I'm not going to hurt you or do what those men were going to. I'll protect you, I just need you to stop crying and work with me." He smiled in a way that would have made every girl stop and stair, "Can you do that for me? It'll be okay I promise."
Lucabella stared at him tears still trickling down her face. How could he promise that? He'd knocked out Gale. Gale would have protected her. Still, she could hear Gale's voice telling her not to be stupid, that she couldn't possibly go back in that room now. So she did the only thing she'd ever really been good at, put on a good face, which here included a small smile and nodding right before she dried her eyes. He smiled at her standing and offering his hand, "I'm Lucas." She smiled back at him taking his hand with her good one, "Lucabella." He smiled at her before turning to face Ivan who had reached them. He stepped in front of Luca his hand which held one of the rails from the table waving dangerously, his other holding onto her. "Go back. You'll get to her over my dead body." She looked frightened behind him, small and like someone that had never been given the tools for this, in short pitiful.
That was when Ian reached them. "I don't know what's going on, sir. But I can't let anyone here. We're alright so long as you keep your distance."

The sudden voice behind Ivan caused him to jerk his head to the side just enough to see the old man though he didn't stop walking even though he could see he was out of breath. Turning to face forwards again he clutched the bag protectively to his chest even though it was little more then a mere liter of water, if that. After walking a few more meters and it looked like the old codger wasn't gonna give up Ivan let out sigh but still didn't turn "It looks like we're dead. Or actually alive. Take your pick, it does matter to me either way..." He muttered, not picking up his pace but doing his best to make his tone to sound as distant as possible in a hope the old man would leave him alone. The last thing he wanted right now was someone to be following him around. Especially since the guy seemed to know him...
Entertaining the thought of where he'd seen the man before, Ivan quickly dropped the matter when some random started waving a stick in his face. "What?" Was Ivan's only response to the guys chivalry. Giving the boy his best disgusted look he could Ivan tried to sidestep him only for more stick waving to follow. "Urr give up this high and mighty act of protecting your fragile little flower. I don't care who either of you are, just let me past..." Not breaking his bored and annoyed tone Ivan took a step forward, making no move to project himself but still clutching at the bag as the old fella caught up to them.

Ian had caught up to the youngsters and heard the disrespect that Ivan had spouted at the two other strangers. We were all just as lost and confused about this situation, why did he have to go and do that to those he never knew? He lightly touched Ivan on the shoulder, if not only to catch his breath, "Boy, mankind is full of enough disrespec' and spite for you ta be addin' any more to it. I dun know what you got again' these people but I don't see you around many people, but people will recipercate (misspelling intentional here too ) how they're treated. You ridicoole people and they gonna fill wiff hate, ya know what I'm sayin'? We stick togethah boy and figah this here mess out" Ian looked at the young couple. His first thought was that they had defiled eachother before marriage, but they seemed guileless enough, "I'arm sorry for dat you two, da name's Ian Jenkins, it's nice to make your acquaintance. You two kids a'ight?"

To Lucabella, who had almost been raped, been dragged away from her lover, and just woken up to find reality wasn't all that it seemed, Ian was like a ray of pure sunshine. He reminded her very much indeed of one of the older gentleman who had always been very kind to her at parties. While this gentleman was not him, he did resemble Mr. Frank in many ways, the least of which was his kindness towards her. All this, and the drowning sense of emotion earned him a blisteringly radiant smile and her to start tearing up again.
Lucas too seemed set at ease although it was clear he wasn't about to let Ivan's words go down batted aside it was this that caused him to advance towards him looking irritated, "She isn't mine, I just met her and stopped some maniac thugs from...well doing the kind of thing only an idiot thug would do. And you're pretty smart mouthed and cruel for a kid that just woke up to whatever the hell we've woken up to."
He seemed primed to at least throw a punch when Lucabella stepped between him and Ivan, "Lucas, stop it. I'm sure Mr...umm well whatever his name is here is just as frightened and confused as we are and that made him speak in a dismissive and impolite way to us just now." She shot Ivan a polite and even kind look that seemed to require her whole face to achieve such a look.
Lucas didn't look one bit like he wanted to accept this explanation, but like the knight in shining armor he believed himself to be he stood back at his lady's request.
Lucabella turned to Ian giving him a pretty curtsy as best she could with the torn robe. "Well, Sir Jenkins, I'm Lucabella Hawthorne, and this is my saviour and new protector Lucas." Her lip caught slightly and began to tremble, "And...And...my boyfriend is back there, and he was only trying to protect me, and Lucas hit him, and I didn't mean to go behind my father's back, and I only want this all to stop and for Gale to rescue me from this nightmare." She was blubbering about the time she hit the second and in her paragraph of useless information.
Lucas moved forward to rest a hand on her shoulders as she held her face heaving and trying to get a grip again, "We're as good as can be expected."

The only reason Ivan didn't give this stick waving idiot an ear full of abuse about his misplaced sense of protection because of his most likely desire for this ignorant girl was because his jaw was clenched so tightly he couldn't have moved it if he had wanted to. Starting to shake now from the building rage he turned to look at the fool that had been following him, taking note of the way he held himself and his tone which made it likely that he was use to others looking up to him even if he didn't do it for power. In other words an idiot that fed off the misplaced loyalties of others while even denying the fact to himself.
And even without that who was he? Who did he think he was? What did he think he knew about Ivan to even let him pass comment? He spoke about not seeing him with many people which was the reason why Ivan wanted to watch him drown. This brought up the most important question: how did he consider he could even mention Alex or what they had, after everything ignorant old fools like him had done to their children to make them do what they did to them?
Taking a step backwards, Ivan shook his head at the old man. "You know nothing." Where the only words he could force out before turning back to the couple blocking his path. Not bothering to even say anything he shared a look of cold rage with Lucas before side stepping the girl and stepping past them, slipping slightly of the smooth metal as his blood soaked feet tried to make contact with the floor.

Lucabella could see the barely surpressed rage in his face as he moved to sidestep her. But her own blubbering face screwed up in disgust, while she was volatile, overly innocent, and needy, she knew how to treat her elders. Especially one who had only expressed kindness towards her. Ivan reminded her of the fools that had jumped Gale, he was cynical, cold, and angry...the only trait he lacked was attraction to her, and she was alright with that one.
So when he moved to leave she did the only sensible thing a delicate lady could do, she put her foot out and tripped him. Lucas looked astonished at her nerve, but his jaw was only going to slacken further as she moved forward to block his path again. She had a pretty smile on her face, and even a blush as she leaned down taking the hand that held the bag in it and lifted it jamming her fingernail into the cuticle of his thumb forcing him to drop it. She tossed it over to Lucas who caught it with relative ease examining it. "Lucas, do me a favour and pop that open and give it a very slight sniff. Nothing much, just tell me, does it smell like water to you?" While Lucas set about doing this she looked down at Ivan, "You know, if you were just a rude little brat to me, I would have thought you were just a cretin. But a boy who speaks ill to his elders is really quite a brute now isn't he? I mean such a boy, would have to be so damaged, broken, and confident that he could only wish to make the rest of the world burn as he does. And of course, that would include wishing a pox on those who are likely to have seen much more sorrow, pain, and felt more hurt than he has. Only a self-centered little barbarian would think his pain surpasses all others."
Lucas spoke up, "This smells like some sort of chemical." She smiled brightly, "It is. I'd bet you my bottom dollar that whatever that stuff is, has something to do with our shared hallucination." She smiled obviously speaking of the world they were in, "And while I know nothing of course, my intuition tells me taking more than the right dose would likely lead to a quick all be it painless death." Lucas nodded at this throwing the bag behind him and the old man. Lucabella's eyes focused on Ivan in a way that seemed to exact judgement at the same time comforting the failure, " Well, why don't you stand up and introduce yourself like us to a proper gentleman. If you'd rather keep doing your pathetic little notice me and pity walk I suppose that would be fine, so long as you do it quietly and while helping us."

A loud cry of "Excuse me!" Silenced the room. A tall man with sandy, Short hair had climbed up onto a table, And was adressing the room. He smiled in that enigmatic way that suggested he was friendly, but might not be all he seemed. "Hey everyone. My name is Iain Anders. I used to work, in the dream world, in the Park district. I was a warden. I helped keep the place tidy. Normally, I wouldnt be standing giving speeches, but no-one else here seems to grasp whats going on. We're walking up into a new world! Its not as bright, or as brilliant as the Dream World, But its still home to us now. And we need to stay together! Those of us with management skills, We need to work together to keep everything under control. To maintain order. Do you all agree?"

"He's not my elder..." Ivan hissed from the floor as he rolled onto his back to look at the girl over him, still holding the same expression he had before if not a little agitated as Lucas tore open the bag but that was quickly replaced by disappointment after hearing what it held. Turning his attention back to the ever so gentle girl his face cracked into a grin that seemed to promise metal unsuitability. "Look at me like that all you want, I'll not drag myself to your standards just because you told me to." He laughed the last part before propping himself up on his elbows to get a better view of the girl. "But you're right about one thing, but my pain is no-" He was cut off just as Iain stood up to address the room.
Looking at the speaker from the floor, Ivan watched in a state of horror and disgust as the foundations of what he had tried so hard to get away from started to fall back into place. When he finished Ivan scrambled to his feet, taking a step back as his face screwed up in disgust "People with management skills need to keep things under control? Herd the cattle more like..." He muttered, taking another step backwards as he tried to get away from the bulk of the crowd. "Well, you're not dragging me back into it..." He was about to take another step when his back hit metal.
Turning in terror he gazed up at the wall he would usually welcome seeing. Frantically he turned and gazed around the room, turning this way and that as something dawned on him: there was no way out. And more importantly there was no water... Slightly panicked now he looked Lucy back in the face as the full extent of the situation dawned on him. After a few seconds of looking from one of her eyes to the next, and some minor jaw movements as thoughts churned and bent in his head he finally swallowed, nodding his head as he gained some of his recent composure. "I'll help you under the condition we find a way out of here." His eyes flitted to the gathering crowd around the speaker, like sheep flocking to their keeper. "Anywhere but here..."

Ian looked at the man with a confused look to the tall, slender man keeping a hand on the boy, "How big was this prison without walls you kept us? When did we agree with this? Are any of the Utopias real? I grew up on the utopia of Haqqislam, my sister moved to the utopia of Panpacificana as have others. Where are those on other worlds?" Others started rumbling with their own questions, as they too remembered of being on other utopias in their childhoods or heard of others moving to them. "I swear I didn't wake up in no dream" one said not to far from him. An angry call for crucifixion against the man who the saw as the malign power that put them there. Some cried out at the existential implications of their perfect life being a lie.
Somebody had recognized Ian's voice in their outcry, a woman in her 50s barged her way through the crowd to finally see her husband. "Ian! Oh my Lord, what has happened, I am so glad you're safe" "So am I love, so am I. This guy must be off his knockers boo, we had gran' chil'ren on that world." "Well kids don't get born in dreams get born in reality as well do they?" "They had souls. The Lord has seen their souls! This man must be a deceiver. We must return to our home!" "Is that that homeless boy who we see on our walks. Oh Chil', are you okay?" Ian's wife came to the body with hands infront of her and a face of concern.
There was some panic as some of the people didn't awake, their decomposed bodies didn't show any sign of injury other than their burned out eye sockets. As they were discovered, The crowd's restlessness picked up once again.

Lucabella continued to look at Ivan with kindness, in fact he wondered if he could crack her demenor which seems unphased by his continued hostility. She shrugged, "At least I have standards. You would do well to at least invent some for yourself. Even if they are not mine." She helped him to stand up just as the man spoke.
Lucas looked up at the man and he quickly turned to one of the negative people. While Lucabella stood silently, searching the crowd for Gale Lucas pushed forward through the crowd until he was obvious to the man on the table.
"How do you know where we all are? How do you know anything about what's going on at all. You're just a groundskeeper. You aren't a man of science or medicine." He turned towards the crowd which was already somewhat riled up from the things Ian had noticed. "How does this man deserve to stand and say what should be? He's as much nobody as the rest of us. And yet he speaks as if he knows something about the system." He turned back towards Iian, "Either you are a loudmouthed fool, or you were sent here by the people that took us from Utopia." Several of the crowd shouted their agreement while others murmered among themselves.
Lucabella stepped forward as well as Lucas stopped and much of the crowd hushed at the sight of her. "Iian, these people have children, grandchildren, wives, husbands, and friends in Utopia. It does not take a genius to see we are no longer there, but it takes a moron to think he has the answers for upheaval. You speak like a revolutionary, but we all have lives and people back there we would bring with us, and if we cannot, then most would choose to return for them. The fact you cannot see that makes you very suspect." She paused most of the crowd shouting their approval, "However, there are no doors I can see. No water or food here. While we might not listen to Iian here, we would do well to find such things before going our separate ways." The crowd fell silent at that.

Ooc- Ark, Theres no corpses lying around. Just empty tables with Scorch marks.
Ic- Iain raises his hands in a Calming manner. "People, please, Calm down. Im not trying to establish control. What Im saying is, If we're going to Survive here, we need to get some law and order in place! We cant afford to fight eachother." At this, There were murmurs of Agreement. "What Im proposing is that we elect a dozen or so people to act as a Leading Council, of Sorts. They can then decide whats the best task for the rest of us. Be that finding food, water, Clothes. Whatever. Its got to be better than running around like chickens." The crowd was swinging back into Iains favour. Many were already discussing nominee's for the 'Council'.
Iain hopped off the Table. "You guys, over there!" He points at your group, amd starts walking over. "You care about the happines of these people, Dont you? You said it yourself, most of us want to return to Utopia, the Paradise we were in before. Can we count on your help? We need to know where we are, How to get back. Can you folks be our eyes and ears?"
