Hello Hive.

If my Flyrant has hive commander and flies off the board the first turn to arrive along with the rest of my army on turn two, do I still benefit from the hive commander +1 reserve roll even when he's off the board?

Yes. The rule says "whilst he is alive". Although the brb does say that if everything is off the board you lose, and if a unit is in reserve/ off the board when the game ends it counts as lost, nowhere does it say effects and abilities don't count.
