Wood Elves have been given to me. What do I do with them!?

Okay, so the owner of a LGS the next town over is relocating elsewhere and had a wood elf army. Apparently, he hates wood elves. Enough to just give them away to whomever would take them.
So, I received wood elves. And now there is a box of models just sitting here with a codex and I don't know what to do with them.
I have never played fantasy before and am not even sure if I'd keep the army. I will test and see, though.

I had to ask what a few of these things were. I'm not even sure if those waywatchers I have are actually waywatchers. Everything else, though, I think I'm accurate on.

I'm just looking for suggestions, advice, anything to help me get an idea of how these guys operate. I'll try them out a couple times.
