Targeting with zoanthrope broods

When using a brood of multiple zoans, do they need to target all of their psychic powers at the same target, I guess witchfires pretty obviously need to be at the same target but what about blessings and maledictions?

ie: can a brood of three (2 biomancy and 1 codex power for example) use one warp lance on enemy armour whilst the other two throw buffs/debuffs at other targets?

Got a game tonight and I have three in a brood and I hadn't considered it before. Does that mean I would need to use all three zoans at the same target?

Yes, that is fine. Blessings and Maledictions do not need to target the same target as everything else, only witchfires and guns.

Awesome, I will probably keep one with codex and 2 biomancy. Facing either marines, crons or guard at 1750 or 2000 points for part of the narrative campaign at my flgs

might want to give one telekinesis instead. Telekine dome is great and gate of infinity is a really good way of getting the one with codex powers somewhere useful. Plus Objuration Mechanicum is a great way to damage flyers.

Will see what who I face and what I roll up with the biomancy first, I might not keep the codex powers. I am using a podded devilfex, devilgaunts and flyrant who will hopefully be able to take on tank car parks/troops whilst the zoans will be slogging upfield in a synapse bubble with the prime, a bunch of warriors, hiveguard, terms, uberhorms and biovores. Got 8 ymgarls and a 10 man broodlord commando unit for annoyance shennanigans

I know it's not a competitive list but the whole campaign is meant to be fluffy and thematic rather than WAAC - so far I control 20% of my target planet, if I win at 2k points tonight I will hold 50%.

I just played IG, and had lots of success going all Telep (for zoans, TMCs went Bio)
Terrify and puppetmaster both proved very useful.

Well I ended up facing 2k of grey knights and near got tabled by turn 5 - such bad luck with the dice

Corteaz + inquisitor + deahcult assassins + SS cultists
2x 10 strike squads
1x 10 purgator squad
2x NDK
2x psifleman dread (1 ven)
2x razorback (psycannon)
2x rhino

Zoans rolled iron arm/smite, life leech/haemorrhage and the third with codex powers.
Flyrant rolled haemorrhage/enfeeble.
Broodlord rolled enfeeble/lifeleech (damn witchfire).

I went first.
Flyrant was dead to stormbolter fire and flamers from the NDKs in the first turn; he took a single hull point off a rhino for all of 285 points
Devilfex and devilgaunts podded into back lines in turn 2 and killed a whole 3 stormshield cultists. 8 ymgarls got wiped out by the corteaz, the inquisitor and the single remaining deathcult. Fex died turn2 to 3 plasma gun cultists.
Prime challenged an NDK (boneswords+toxin should work pretty well), hit all attacks and failed to wound all 5 - instantly squashed in return.
Hiveguard missed everything, the one time he hit a razorback (standing 2" infront of it) he failed to pen, assaulted it and managed a single hp off it.
Zoans missed every single witchfire (smite/lifeleech/warpblast) aimed at squads of knights.

The best thing about the whole game was my uberhorms killed the other NDK in a couple of turns - horms have killed more things in assault than anything else in my army
The broodlord and 9 toxin stealers assaulted the vendred turn 2 and tarpitted it till turn 5 when I finally glanced it to death, they then all got annihilated by corteaz.

I penetrated armour twice in the entire game with the results being stunned or shaken.

First, not sure if the rhino was your best target, was there a unit inside?
12 shots with a reroll should be 9 hits. Against front or side, that should lead to 1-2 pens and 1-2 glances... and you really only got 1 HP? That is unlucky dice rolling.

Second... how many Storm bolters shot at you? Did you fly within 24" of the Purgation squad? Rule check: They needed 6's to even hit when you are flying, and you only take 1 grounding check *per unit* that hits you. So, purgation squad gets 6 hits and no wounds, you take 1 grounding check.
Storm bolters hit on 6, wound on 6, and you get a 3+ save... how did they do damage to you?
The NDK flamers each need a 4+ to wound, and you still get your 3+ save....did they both do damage?
Rule check: the flamers can't hit unless you got grounded.

He must take saves on the closest models, even using Look Out Sir, he must reallocate to the closest model, how were the dead all SS henchmen?
Evenso, assuming 20 devilgaunts, that should lead to 6-7 dead SS henchmen (which are the same ones with the plasma gun) or 13-14 dead DC assassins
The Fex should have been another 3 SS or 6 DC dead
Rule check: Henchmen are only T3

Plasma gun
3 Henchmen, 6 shots, 4 hits, 2.66 wounds. So not unreasonable, but still more bad luck. You have an 18" range, and can disembark within 6" of the pod, if you can, get you toe into area terrain.

The flyrant was shot at by both razorbacks (psycannon/stormbolter), both psifleman dreads and corteaz's rhino stormbolter - they all either missed, failed to wound or I saved and made the grounding tests. Two purgator psycannons from the rhino top hatch hit and wounded with one rend, promptly failed the jink and grounding test. Stormbolter on the rhino took another wound and the NDK flamers took the last one off

The flyrant shot at the rhino with corteaz in, figured it would at least be wrecked when shooting at side armour.

All of the SS cultists died, corteaz ignored the rest with his artificer armour. The death cult assassins took out most of the ymgarls but most of them died in response.

The plasma fex death was unlucky for me I guess, expected to take a couple of wounds but not all 4

The prime was annoying as hell, three games in a row he has whiffed in a challenge where he should be raping face. The zoans and hive guard were a huge disappointment.

Guess I need a new set of dice!

edit: everything had psibolt ammo as well, forgot to mention that one.
