ok awesome. Have an idea for a character but hes mostly going to be funny. Anouther question for if you want a more serious rather then funny character, what is the tech level of the city, like if i do an anti-skill memeber would they had access mech warrior/gundam suits things?

They have full exoskeletons possible/ the capability to build something of the nature described. But anti-skill generally only uses the exoskeletons and basic armor/guns.

Yea hello I'm back.

Sorry about not getting my rp up before I went but I sort of got detracted with playing games with people and maybe just a little bit of flirting . But if people want I'll put it up some time this week.

And I'll probably have a character done later tonight or tomorrow when I get some time to read this better and the headache goes away. Its good to see a new rp around though.

Edited. As for his use of magic to hurt those other kids, it could be passed off as psychological trauma of some kind, or hallucinations or somesuch. theres no confirmation from any of his reports that it was indeed magic.

Name: Will Forrest

Age: Recently 16

Types: Level 1 in wind manipulation (can only produce the faintest of breezes) would probably be classed as a level 0.5 if it existed (his power isn't worth much)

School: Manchester Grammar Boys School

Biography: The only child of a middle class immigrant family, originating from the cold Eastern Coast of England. His parents were loving, he enjoyed a cosy yet slightly lonely childhood, mainly due to the low population of his coastal village, leaving him with admittedly few but close friends.
Both his Father and Mother were classed as level 2 Espers, his father able to produce fairly powerful wind currents, his Mother capable of producing water from her palms, seemingly out of nothing. Will has had almost had no powers since birth, and appears to continue in this way.
By the time he was 13 he was intelligent, well read, largely innocent thanks to the loving nature of his family. It was this time when it the call came from the cooperation employing his parents, to move to the Education City, obtaining simple desk jobs with significantly more pay. After much deliberation they accepted on the condition that Will would receive education despite his lack of power.
Will had the normal reaction to the move, being very reluctant, but eventually he left this attitude in the windswept village, accepting his new home in the city.
The change of environment on the surface affected him positively, he gained more friends, seemed more lively, enjoying the benefits of city life. He excelled at school in his first year and all seemed well (despite his only Esper ability being able to turn the pages of a book using a slight breeze). However in his second year it was brought to the attention of the schools head staff that he was making no progress in terms of his power, and hence his presence in the specialised school was redundant. His place was only saved by the intervention of his parents, arguing that his abilities would come eventually, and that his fantastic performance in generic subjects shouldn't be ignored.
He stayed at the school, but he was looked down upon by other students, his number of friends falling over time. He started to develop his current psychological conditions. Growing frustrate with his lack of power, he began to ignore what little he had. Further more, his parents were once again called to move to a new area, but in a misguided and desperate act of defiance, he refused, opting to remain at the school. He now lives in simple accommodation in a relatively deprived inner city area, either with his few friends, or practicing one of his other myriad interests when not in school.

Description: The schools uniform follows a blue scheme. A dark blue blazer, a lighter coloured blue shirt, a striped tie, black trousers and black school shoes.
He stands at 5ft 11, is noticeably skinny despite possessing a small yet noticeable element of strength, since he maintains himself to some degree through basic exercise.
His brown hair can cover his faintly brown eyes at its longest, but normally he keeps it short for practical purposes.


Casually he tends to wear darker jeans, scruffy trainers, a large range of tshirts and either a coat or hoodie, depending of course on the weather.

Any Weapons: None

Skills: Generally a learned type, excels throughout all his subjects at school, while his wider reading produces a mature quality within him.
He is a definite thinker, although he rarely implements such thoughts into his daily life.
Can look after himself in terms of food and cleanliness, making him a reasonable cook.
He is totally untrained in fighting, giving him a unsophisticated style, although he is reasonably tenacious.

Personality: Will has a strange, invisible superiority complex, a though he has some greater understanding of the world than others, this gives him the occasional arrogant streak, but largely he is a friendly type, speaking wittily amongst his small group of friends (however this seems to fade in the company of the opposite sex, fading into a forced awkward manner, in which he talks crassly)

Those who have known Will for more than a year notice there is something peculiar about him, in that he is prone to extremely heavy mood swings on the edge of Bi polarity. This arises in intense situations of stress, depression or occasionally completely random irritation. This can exacerbate his arrogance, cause him to lash out at those close who've done little wrong or worst of all, become a poet/philosopher often on rainy friendless days. This is what he believes to be the real him, although others think it is just extremely pretentious.

Other Possessions: Mobile with MP3 capabilities, along with headphones.
Moderate amount of money.
His student I.D.

Other notes: He might improve in terms of ability, although it'll take something new in his life.

I'm not sure if he will fit in, he's a definite civilian, although I do like the character alot.

I've got a couple of questions though, firstly does this take place in Japan or some country/planet in some alternate uinverse.

Also in terms of technology how far ahead are we, or is it simply todays standard?

It is set in Japan in a city that is more or less added on.

It isn't exactly the present because science is fairly advanced, but people still live like the present. So as far as tech goes.

There are exoskeletons for enhancing strength.
Bullet weapons/blast weapons are still the primary weapons of choice.
There is the capabilities to build mech like machines, but it is rare to see them built and even then, if they were they don't generally compare to the powerful espers.

So to answer your question, a bit past standard, but as a student you would be living pretty much as today.

Name: Aidan Stains

Types/Subtypes: Esper Level unknown (not sure don't want him to be too powerful)

School:

Age: 15

Biography: Aidan was born with a unique esper ability to warp reality. His parents found him in his crib with his favorite book spot the playful puppy and a small puppy that disappeared as soon as he turned away. Aidan's parents were then approached by the government to make sure their son got the education he needed for his powers to develop. At first glance they thought his powers would be limitless. But after some testing they found there were some very defined limits. Fist was that he could not just make what ever he thought of. It needed to be something pictured in a book or some other illustration. The second was that there was a range, he needed to be in 20 foot range of the item he created. Once the government found this out they were less interested but wanted to keep eyes on the child, encase his powers grow.
A few years later when Aidan was 5 years old his parents died in a car accident, so he had to move in with his uncle who owned a comic/ trading card store. This is when Aidan fell in love with, the (at the time very popular) Battle monsters card game. He watched the tv show religiously and played the card game with his uncle all the time. When if came time for his next round of tests by the government they found that in response to his parent death, he had build a mental block and his powers would only work on battle monsters trading cards. With the coming years his mental block has not lifted even tho battle monsters is now a thing of the past. Aidan has moved on to comics as his favorite but his powers still only work on battle monsters, so he keeps a deck with him at all time. The versatility of a battle monsters deck is good, with offensive cards, like fire balls and electric shocks, and defensive cards, like vines and walls, keep it very versatile but the over all power of it is very low as most of the battle monsters are woodland creatures. These creatures as usually wielding swords, axes and even guns. Now there are more powerful creatures but his mental block extends to the full rules of battle monsters where you have to sacrifice smaller monster to summon larger, more powerful ones. So Aidan can summon more powerful monsters but it would take a long time and most actual battles would take longer then the time he needs. But he is far from defenseless as even rabbits wielding swords can do some damage, especially if a guy is throwing a fire ball at you at the same time. He keeps trying to enhance his powers but has not to this date summoned anything but battle monsters since his parents death.

Description: Aidan is pretty short, he is about 5'4 with spiky blond red hair. He is wearing a blue uniform suit, with a white dress shirt underneath and black boots.

Any Weapons: Battle cards as well as weapons that can be summoned from them

Skills: complete knowledge of battle monsters card game, comic book knowledge, cash register knowledge (as he runs the comic store some times), and extensive computer knowledge

Personality: He is usually up beat and always willing to help. He is always loyal to his friends.

Other Possessions: Backpack, cell phone, comic books, battle monster cards, wallet, cash, bagged lunch and a picture of his parents

Other Notes: Not sure if this is good or not, he is a little more of a funny character as he will be mostly fighting with rabbits and beavers and such lol. If it doesn't fit i can change it, also i hope i limited his powers enough. I didn't put power level as Im not sure what the rating are. I can make anouther guy.

Okay, I'm just going to say that your school should be the same as Edzilla's or one of my two characters which is totally up to you.

Other than that, great, This is exactly the kind of character that works. I'm going to suggest because of your limitations that you are a level 2 although if that block were removed it would probably be as high as level 4.

Very nice, is it sort of sad that this kid sounds like a male version of me minus the bio. XD

Also this is a reworked character from another forum I like but never really got around to using. Most of his back story revolves around another plain of reality which I might need to talk to you about later.
And sorry about all the writing but I'm too use to having spoiler tabs on my forums XD

Name: Yume Tsuisutā
Age: 17 (biologically)
Types/Subtypes:
Level Zero
(Was) Esper

School: Saint Catherine's School of Rehabilitation- A pretty low quality religious school which Yume managed to scab his way into due to his less than normal mental state and lack of, well, anything in this world. He hates the place but its the only one he could get into and at least it provides free food and a place to sleep.

Biography: Yume isn't actually of this world, or for that matter this reality. He was born into a world where magical talent was unheard of and when he started to make things happen people started to take interest in him, primary among them his own farther. Determined to find the source of this power and this strange dream place his son would talk about Yume's farther began to experiment on his own son. This lead to Yume seeing nothing of the outside world but he was always happy to help dad make things better. This carried on for years until when Yume was well into his teen's his farther came up with a way to give others these powers by exposing Yume to this dream place which he theorized where Yume got his powers from.

But instead of working smoothly the experiment was rushed and Yume was sucked kicking and screaming into the dream world. At first he floated in the sea of thoughts and emotions, thinking that dad would come and save him but eventually the thoughts came. Yume never figured out if they where his own or not but all alone he began to feel bitter which started to attract different types of thoughts. It was then he found he could consume these idea's of hate and grow stronger because until after what must have been years he ripped his way out of the dream world and into this one, with a shock wave that was felt in some way across every existing plain.

Full of hate it was only natural he began to lash out at everything in his path and after feeding on some of the worst dreams humanity has ever had little could stop him. Hundreds died in dark alleys and even more driven mad as rumors of a darkness that ate dreams began to spread. In fact if he hadn't have been stopped Yume probably would have kept going until nothing was left. But thankfully that didn't happen. Something was able to stop him. Yume isn't sure what as the last thing he could remember before waking up in this damned city was a flash of light and a lot of pain. Now he waits for his chance to get his power back and but going from a walking god to a high pitched freak that no one knows but everyone laughs at has taken it tole. Most of his hate has begun to turn inwards and if it wasn't for his constantly jamming gun he probably would have died on more than one occasion.

Any Weapons:
Dreamweaver Gloves- A set of pure black gloves made from a material not found in this plain of reality that are dotted with tiny stars and nebula's. When moved from one position to another what can be seen in the gloves changes as if they acted as a window to somewhere else. They are Yume's last connection to his powers as they give him the ability to manipulate "Maelstrom magic" with his hands. On top of that they are indestructible to most physical attacks and can easily handle high temperatures and turn aside light blows though this wouldn't stop Yume from getting his hand crushed.

M9- A standard sidearm Yume got cheap from some back ally dealer. He hates the thing and it hates him if you look at its constant jamming but since he lost his powers its better than nothing.

Skills: Yea he has a few. Most just do nothing but fluff though...
Childish innovation- Yume has never really had to do anything for himself and so doesn't have much skill in everyday things like cooking and social skills though he can usually find a way around any situation. Admittedly its often in a strange or silly way.

Baku- Yume has the ability to literally "eat" a persons dreams to give him a temporary boost in magical strength, with the worse the dream being the bigger the boost. Having lost his powers though this doesn't really help much but still allows him to see a persons general thoughts. This doesn't allow him to gleam knowledge but shows him their emotions like strands and explosion of color.

Maelstrom magic- Yume use to specialized in a certain form of magic given to him by a plain he calls the Maelstrom. It is unlike most forms of magic in the terms it does focus on physical things like nature but instead on the human mind, specifically emotions and the subconscious.

Twisted body- When Yume came to this world he had to literally rip his way through the barriers of space which left his body a little muddled to say the least. Far from being helpful however these changed have manifested in weird ways, most prominently of which is the funny angle his left leg sticks out below the knee and his high pitched voice. This has caused people to laugh at him for a various reasons, all of which he hates.

Personality: Hate filled and cynical Yume is everything that could be evil rolled into one person often seeing himself above others and them only being useful as a means to achieve his goals. Though saying this he often makes social mistakes and doesn't understand why people act upset when he tells them that their logic is flawed or that their pants do make them look fat. He is also easily angered by insults and stupidity and will hold nothing back when telling said person how they are wrong.

Other Possessions: He came here with nothing but the cloths on his back and what little money he scavenged went into that terrible gun.
Other Notes:
He is as I said a converted version of another character.
Yume Tsuisutā should (if the guy I asked wasn't pulling one over on me) translate to Dream Twister in Japanese.
A Baku is a spirit in Japanese culture that eats dreams.

Hokay, a few notes on this, I can certainly work this guy in but a few changes.

1. He has to obey the logical laws of this realm even if he is from a different one.

2. Based upon the first one, his gloves can be mostly immune to the physicality of this world but if any level 5's come near them with their powers they will be able to be destroyed.

3. He will not have the magic of this realm because the magic of this realm is attained through study. Instead he will count as an Esper. Based upon his abilities you speak of I would say he would have been a level 5 had he not lost powers. So now he would be about a level 3-4.

4. Remind me to send you a message about some important things to do with your character.

If you're cool with all that he's approved and I enjoy the idea.

I did see that coming and that's why I said physical attacks. If your strong enough you can destroy them.

I'll change him to an Ex esper then. As for the magic stuff I would like to use my own but I'm fine with that as well I think. Don't really know what you mean by this realm though. Everything he gets will be dream based and his original power and the one in the RP he was in he had Nightmare type magic. It really depends on the character development in what he gets though
