yep, the local GW employee and i were talking, and we decided this monday when the store is closed, we are going to meet up and have an 8k point all day long match.

normal 40k rules for the most part (ignoring FOCs of course at this level) with a 12 foot by 4 foot board going from grass to city to stronghold with walls and everything.

this is gonna be awesome!

I had an Apocalypse Battle against IG (and DA, SM) not long ago and I have to say, as long as he didn't maximizes Leman Russ Executors it's gonna be an exciting matchup! But otherwise... I didn't get any close to its tank line and when I did the MCs were down to 1 LP and dead next round. That wasn't that funny.
So provide that there is enough LoS-blocking terrain on the table!

It was just the same with our first apocalypse battle! My girlfriend wanted me to visit her on that weekend so badly I had to fear for our relationship, deciding whether to play the game nevertheless or to cancel it the day before.

In the end I travelled the six hours per train to be with her and our club had a nice game two weeks later. My friends were all cool with that and I didn't regret my decision since the moment I made it.
You know, in maybe 10 years we'll start a family and I'll have to take a break from 40k nonetheless (and will possibly come back to it in 20 years ;D).
