My list for an up coming tourney...I think they are going to hate me

2 flyrants devourers regen one has hive commander
2 harpies tl heavy venom cluster spines and regen
25 gargoyles with toxin
Doom in pod
40 hormies with toxin
40 termies fleshborers

Last time they complained about my swarmlord.....this should teach em lol

Any thoughts?

you have no synapse creatures other than the flyrants. potential problem there.

i am a proponent of double dakka flyrants, so good there. useful for everything.

at 2k points, you have only 2 troops units (though they're huge), and no HG/zoe/ygrmls.

i'm not a particular fan of the harpy, unless i'm seriously going to be tailoring for foot IG/orks.

if they were complaining about SL, you were doing it right.

I plan on 4 groups of 20 on the guants the hormies don't need the synap but if its a problem I figure just fly one tyrant off the table and rally them the following turn, I like the flying Mc for the vector strikes and with harpies you get a vector strike and d3 spore mine bombardment in the movement phase followed by a shot at strength 9 that's possibly a unit if the dice gods are smileing not to mention with a total of 4 flying Mc your opponent has some tough decisions to make.

that's broken down a bit better then. remember that termagants get stupid when they fail that IB: lurk test if they're not in terrain already.

still not a fan of harpies; you're looking at 190ish? points for something with T5 and 4+ armor, even with hard to hit/jink/regular cover save, and they can only vector strike other flyers (at S5, which ain't so good) as they're equipped here. they're murder on infantry for sure, but that's something the codex excels at already.

target priority with your 4 flyers is very simple: they kill the flyrants then the harpies. the harpies are a threat to dismounted infantry, the flyrants are a threat to everything. after the flyrants are dead, your entire army runs off the board after loosing 5 models per unit (well, aside from the doom and the harpies).

Well I suppose I can drop 20 guants and add in a squad of basic warriors for some back field synap I also agree the harpy isn't the toughest of critters but its still 6 to hit and unless I'm dealing with warp quake I like to deep strike them. Though sometimes just moving them across the boards in one big group is worth it just to see the look of disgust on the other players face.

it's a flying MC with a TL HVC. if you're going to take them, take advantage of them and start them on the board shooting from turn 1. remember warriors and the problem with S8 ID, especially in a tournement setting. keep them hidden and in cover, folks have had success using them as backline synapse anchors (i think coredump uses them like that still?) though it's not my thing.
