Hello Hive!
I'm posting to show you all my Doom of Malan'tai conversion. I did this over Christmas for a conversion contest at my local GW store. Luckily enough for me it won
Woo! But sorry, I was always too busy to take photos of it.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the charger for my SLR camera so these are taken with my iPhone. When I find it I can probably take better shots.
All my tyranid units are painted with the colour scheme from Space Hulk. (Best board game ever, and the reason why I play Tyranids)
The Doom of Malan'tai leeches the life out of a Dark Eldar Kabalite Warrior. A poor Hellion thinks he can save the day but unfortunately he too got caught in the Doom's deadly aura.
A closer look at the Kabalite Warrior getting the soul sucked from his body.
From the Warrior's perspective... the Doom is absolutely horrifying as it telekinetically looms over him. A sight that would scare you to death even without the aura >.>
A side shot of the doom. The aura is projected from it's palms and it's temples into the target... Some of it even leaks out of it's very own exposed brain.
When enemies can actually see the aura emanating from the Doom of Malan'tai on the table, they really get the idea they need to stay the hell away from it!
I've run this Doom of Malan'tai on the table just once. It sure did have some intimidation factor behind it and was definitely worth the point cost to drop him into battle!
