1k Escalation List and Results so far!

Gents,

in my last few threads you all have been a great help moving through this escalation league. We just finished our first week at 1k, we play two weeks per 250 with 3 games max per week. As of yesterday I was tied for 4th at 6-1-1, but i won handily both games last night. My real problem is that i missed the very first week of the tourney so Im 4 games short all together. Oh well we shall see how it goes moving forward!

Here is my current list:

Hive Tyrant, Wings, 2x TL Devours (2x Biomancy) - 260

2x Hiveguard - 100

Doom - Mycetic Spore - 130

1x Zoey (2x Telepathy) - 60

15x Devilgaunts, Devourers, TS - Mycetic Spore - 205

10x Termagaunts - 50

Tervigon, Cluster, TS, 2 powers (2x Biomancy) - 195

I was frighteningly good against two Eldar players last night, both essentially over matched by turn 2 or 3, they were both Wraith/Avatar heavy and Toxin Sacs loved it!

Questions:

My lone Zoey wasn't very effective in either game though the fear of terrify and puppet master is pretty funny, and he was pretty brutal when there were two but overall last night not so much.... any suggestions?

What do you all think I should do at 1250? Another Tevi? Trygon? Ymgarls maybe and some gargs perhaps?

I am thinking that either I add to the zoey squad or remove him as alone he is ineffective really.

I wouldn't mind having another troop on the board but I know at 1500 ill have another Tervi so might add another back field objective holder but not sure it's needed.

Any other suggestions?

I suggest you max out your Elite slots effectiveness. You've already got fairly decent anti-tank/transport with your Flyrant, Hive Guard, Doom, and Devilgants. I suggest dropping the single Zoan in favor of ymgarls. They're effective against both vehicles and infantry, and can provide an additional mid/backfield issue for your opponent.

Hive Guard Brood (2) = 100 pts.
Ymgarl Genestealer Brood (5) = 115 pts.

Doom Of Malan'tai (1) = 90 pts.
Mycetic Spore (1) = 40 pts.

== Troops ==
Tervigon (1) - Cluster Spines, Toxin Sacs, Cat, Taken As Troops = 185 pts.
Tervigon (1) - Cluster Spines, AG, Toxin Sacs, Cat, Taken As Troops = 195 pts.
Termagant Brood (10) - Fleshborer = 50 pts.
Termagant Brood (190 pts.)
Termagant (15) - Devourer = 150 pts.
Mycetic Spore (1) = 40 pts.

== Total ==
1250 pts.

Added Old Adversary to your Flyrant so that units within 6" get those ever critical re-rolls. A second Tervigon at this level gives you a much better chance of not crapping out on spawn rolls, plus gives you flexibility in leaving spawned broods behind to sit on objectives while the main force advances. It's not a flashy list, but then the current rules and our codex really pigeon-hole us on effective options.

Once you hit 1500 points you can look to add Gargoyles and/or a Trygon.

Thanks for the input. I do like the idea of Ymgarls, I want an additional deep threat and that fits the bill. Is the best bang for the buck 5 at 115?

Zoans are NOT dedicated anti tank in 6th. They are probably my favourite unis in 6th in the current codex. They can do ANYTHING really. Give them biomancy for unit buffing, give them smite to KILL MEQ's . keep codex powers for MEQ killing and tank busting. My favourite thing to do with 3 of them is to take rulebook powers with 2 and codex with 1 the rulebook ones will roll for 2 powers then swap out worse one for smite for anti MEQness
But ymgarls are a good option which everway you go i hope you have great success

I agree that Zoeys can do quite a bit depending on powers but def need 2-3 rather than the one i ran last week.
