need finetune 750pt tourney list

I rarely play below 1K, and even then it is usually doubles....but local store has a monthly 750 tourney I want to check out.


Flyrant :260
2 TLDev, wings

2 x 2 Hive guard: 200

10 gaunts: 50
Terv: CCLaws, cat: 200

Total: 710

Things I would like to add:
OA on the flyrant
AG, TS, Onslaught on the Terv

What suggestions do you guys have?

Do you have any idea what the meta is like? for 750 points 4 Hiveguard seems a little excessive. The Flyrant and the Tervigon are obvious choices, but I'm not sold on that many HG. How would you deal with an Assault terminator unit? (Just throwing it out there)

Not sure about the meta, went to one tourney to watch, but at 750 the meta can change on a whim.

Assault termies: Depending on rest of list, ideally torrent from flyrant,and HG shooting to whittle them down, then hit with enfeeble and gaunts/Terv.

I'd personally go for AG, TS, Onslaught on the Terv.

I find the extra chance of getting IA or End on the Terv is worth it. I think you will also see more benefit from TS AG gaunts than OA tyrant in a low point game. As much as I love the OA buff I find it rarely works out as planned in-game as the Tyrant's main priority is always to kill stuff rather than support/ try to stay within 6 inches (and in your case support only 10 gaunts? A terv? maybe a few more gaunts?)

One could argue there are less models so more chance your units will all be in one general area to benefit from OA, but I'd still go for TS AG for consistency's case. HT will pack enough punch as is in 750.

You can use the last 5 points to buy a little pink ribbon for the HT.

Also on a side note you went CC on the Terv. Go big or go home

I agree with Jestar; I think 4 Hive guard might be a bit overkill for 750. You could drop 2 and bring 10 devilgants; at this point level, if you drop them on an objective they can be pretty unpleasant for your opponent to move. And definitely might as well throw everything on the Terv.

I think I was (over)reacting to the one player that had 3 DE vehicles with Dark Lances...

1 Zoan: 60
10 gaunts: 50
Terv: CClaws, TS, Cat: 210

45 points left over.

Here is some of my thinking....

OA helps CC hits and wounds, and shooting wounds. And since the HT is often off by himself, it works as insurance against really bad rolls. (TS would be another option instead.)

Taking Onslaught gives me one more Bio Option, but I still can only cast 2 powers (Terv and HT). The Zoan gives me two more options, *and* lets me cast a third power.

I think I can get the same benefits of AG by using enfeeble, and it has a longer range.

On any of those, I could be convinced otherwise.... and I have another 45 points to spend...
