Greetings hive! Here is my 2,000 point list, any comments are highly appreciated. Thanks!
HQ
Tyrant - wings, 2 devourers - 260
Swarmlord with 1 guard - 340
Elites
Hive Guard brood x3 - 150
DoM with spore - 140
Ymgarl x7 - 161
Troops
Termagant x10 - 50
Termagant x10 - 50
Hormagaunt x 18 - 108
Tervigon - AG, TS, 3 powers - 210
Tervigon - AG, TS, 2 powers - 195
Fast Attack
Gargoyle x10 - 60
Gargoyle x10 - 60
This brings me to 1,784 point. My plan is, have swarmy run up the field using cover and possible iron arm and/or endurance. Flyrant will either start on or off the board, coming in on a 2+ turn 2. DoM and Ymgarl hopefully arrive turn 2. I personally like DoM's base physic power so I will probably keep that, I love the hopefully high strength, low ap large blast. Hive guard do what they do. The Hormagaunts and Gargoyles are there for screening and Termagants and Tervigon's for scoring. So with the left over 216 points, I can either
1. take a Trygon and a 3rd power on the other Tervigon.
or
2. take 3 warriors with deathspitters and a barbed strangler and 3 raveners with rending claws.
If I took options 1 it would just be another MC to run up the field and target saturation. I'm leaning towards option two. The Trygon and medium creatures will both die to 6 missiles/lascannons or whatever. However, with the 2nd option I can have the warriors sit on a backfield objective and shoot letting the termagants and tervigons run forward. They can also provide synapse for the Hive Guard. Also raveners are pretty beast in combat, rending claws make them even better. They will most likely take a flank with a unit of gargoyles for cover. I'm hoping the 12 inch move will catch an opponent off guard. Against small arms fire it will be easier to wound the medium guys, but there will be a total of18 wounds vs the trygons 6. However, a missile will just hurt the trygon while it will decrease the overall effectiveness of the medium creatures by removing a model. Plus side to the mediums is easier cover, but down side is worse armor save.
Please let me know what you think!
