2000pt Tyranids, 1st try at 6th Ed. for tomorrow

I am trying out a Tyranid Army tomorrow, Dec. 19, for the first time in years, and am still learning the 6th edition codex and strategy.

I love running lots of gaunts and genestealers, so I kept the biomorphs on everything minimal so I could run more models.

I don't have the new Tervigon model, although since I'll be playing in a casual game I could use a proxy if people think I should run one--they look like they could be pretty useful

Honestly...I'd lose a few gants to get a second set of devs on the flyrant...you'll appreciate them when targeting infantry squads...especially precision shots.
However...if you expect to get in hand combat...I generally prefer having LW/BS over scytals...especially assaulting in cover.

I agree with you I should probably swap out the Scything Talons for something else. It depends on how I want to use him, and I guess 2 sets of twin-linked devourers could also be useful against rear vehicle armor. But the LW/BS combo could be really useful. I also want to add toxin sacs to both Tyrants.

Does my army list have enough anti-vehicle? Thanks for help!

One thing I'd consider would be lose a tguard. Those 60 points will get you a second set of devs for the flyrant and enough leftover for a spore for either the zoans or one of your fees. Its a great way to position them for taking out armor. At the same time...I always roll biomancy powers for my tyrants... I aim for Iron Arm to primarily boost toughness, but if you have two guard attached...majority toughness will be 6...even if your tyrant is technically T9.

Another variation...for anti-armor purposes...drop a guard for another zoanthrope and run 2x two model squads of zoans.
