750 points all takers list.

I'm trying to build a 750 point all takers list that will work equally well against all opponents so what do you think?

Tyranid Prime w/ Lash Whip and Bonesword - 95
x2 Hive Guard - 100

Zoanthrope - 60

x15 Termagants - 75
Tervigon w/ Toxic Sacs, Catalyst - 185

Trygon - w/ Toxic Sacs, Regeneration - 235

Total - 750

Perhaps the Trygon is over kill but I need something to reliably pop tanks and he easily falls into that category. He has Regeneration as well because let's face it he's basically going to be a fire magnet.

So what do you think? All feedback welcome.

I think it should work fine. The zoan feels a bit lost but it's some possible support powers or warp lances.

Maybe drop TS and regen on the Trygon for a few more gants if he is mostly vehicle hunting. Better yet replace with another Terv.

Do you think if I drop the Trygon I should add another Zoanthrope? I like him I just find him very short ranged. But I'm learning that short ranged fire power is an army characteristic of the Tyranids. Very different from Chaos lol.

I should also mention that I am still playing in 5th edition because that's probably important.

The edition you're playing is quite important yes.

I'd drop the zoanthrope, since hive guards will do a better job vs vehicles most of the time, even more if the zoan isn't in a pod. Unless some dude decides to drop in a land raider, you should be fine.

If the Trygon is going to be dedicated to tank hunting, drop the TS. Same for regen, I've never been a big fan of that. I feel that the 25 points can be of better use somewhere else.

With the points you save, you could get another Hive guard and field a Biovore and potentially ruin the day of any GEQs.

But that's the thing about regeneration I don't understand why people don't like it? A Trygon is 200 points and has six wounds so each wound is worth 33.3 points. Remember a Trygon with one wound puts out as much damage as a Trygon with six. So even if regeneration only brings back one wound which it should statistically do then it has more then made up for it's 25 points?

The toxic sacs I could indeed drop them I only included them to make up points and kill potential Warithlords. But what should I replace it with?
Taking your advice on the Zoanthrope how does this look?

Tyranid Prime (1) - Devourer, Lash Whip And Bonesword, Regeneration = 105 pts.

== Elites ==
Hive Guard Brood (2) = 100 pts.
Zoanthrope (1) = 60 pts.

== Troops ==
Tervigon (1) - Stinger Salvo, Toxin Sacs, Cat, Onslaught, Taken As Troops = 200 pts.
Termagant Brood (15) - Fleshborer = 75 pts.

== Heavy Support ==
Trygon (1) - Instinctive Behaviour - Feed = 200 pts.

== Total ==
740 pts.

Just bufing up the tervi with the spare point off the trygons Ts and regen . I added an extra psychic power to teh Tervi, regen for the prime ( attaching him to the Hive guard unit might be handy, adn 10 point left to play with ( maybe some ag on the Trygon)
