My question is whether I should drop the toxin sacs and a power off the tervigon to put deathspitters on the warriors and prime and bump the term squad up to 12, or I could drop the crushing claws instead. Will the S5 AP5 make that much of a difference?

I am by no means a seasoned player like most on these boards. But I can share some of my lurking knowledge with you.

Mathematically speaking you are at a much higher advantage to keep the toxin sacs and drop the crushing claws. The Tervigon is already a MC and as such the crushing claws only come in handy when taking on a few highly armored targets. Since you are in a 500 point game the chances of coming across something prime for the crushing claws to face is minimal.

Keep in mind the toxin sacs effect both the tervigon itself and all termagants within range. Shelving out that many 4+ to wound attacks is greatly mathematically superior to just 1d3 extra attacks.

On the topic of deathspitters, their power is their versatility. They match the devourers shot for shot and get the +1 strength for wounding heartier models. In addition, a lucky round of shooting could give a few glancing hits on transports if shooting from the side or rear. Against swarm armies that AP 5 is actually nice. All in all I would purchase based on what you expect to face.

Personally, I think you'd be better off, at that point total of game, to leave the warriors with devourers and give one of them a venom cannon or barbed strangler. Same or less point cost but either option delivers more punch to the unit.
