1999... Done buying models (for now?)

My swarm is coming together nicely, I've got some smaller games in, and I'm ramping up to a 1999 point list. Theme is a slow, inexorable crush of large creatures, with limited infantry support. Thus:

Tyrant: Shell, LW & BS, TL devourer, OA, Implant Attack, 2x Biomancy
1 Guard

2x 10 Termagant
2x Tervigon: big claws, toxin, cluster spine, 3x Biomancy

Hive Guard
Hive Guard
8 Ymgarl

2 Carnifex: 2x TL devourer
Trygon: Toxin
Tyranofex: Cluster Spine, Spray


The carnifex/tyranofex will walk along side the Tyrant to take advantage of old adversary. My local scene is very infantry mob heavy, so I'm contemplating dropping toxin on the trygon in favor of stranglethorn guns for the carnifex. Everything is conveniently magnetized, so switching weapons is fast.

Lots of strong h2h characters in the local meta as well, so lash whip seems a good value. Tyrant has fared well so far at low point games in challenges.

Losing claws on the tervigons means another hive guard, gotta think on that.

I'm planning on burrowing the trygon simply for the psychological value... I'll try if for a few games anyway.

Once some nice flying monstrous creature models are released, I'll switch to wings on the tyrant for super vanguard air attack. There's very few flyers at my store this far, so anti-air isn't an issue yet.

I love when im not the only one who uses MC lists! How has this been working for you so far? my multi trygon,tyrant,tervigon list has wrecked a lot of space marine players egos! Good luck!

So far it's working pretty well. I haven't come up against heavy vehicle lists or multiple flyers yet, but against swarm Orks and Imperial Guard I'm relatively confident. The lone tervigon in my low point list consistently has a blowout turn 1 or two, but by then my other monsters are in range and tearing up the enemy line. What termagants I have can then shuffle toward an objective and hope to weather the remaining storm.

The sheer volume of fire from the armies I'm fighting is disconcerting even against high toughness, unless of course I can roll endurance/arm. Nothing like parking a nigh-invulnerable tervigon on an objective or having it grab the Relic...
