Well, I took a break from 40k with the onset of 6th edition and I'm about to have my first game. I've lurked a little the past two days but that's about the extent of my 6th edition knowledge.
I've read through the 6th edition book once (I know I know supposed to be twice) and honestly I skimmed a lot seeing as how most of it is the same as 5th (only abilities changed really).
I came up with the following list. I know stealers suck now supposedly but I love the unit so gonna try to abuse challenges and psychic things:
== HQ ==
Swarmlord Brood
Swarmlord (1)
Tyrant Guard (3) - Bonesword
Tervigon (1) - Crushing Claws, Cluster Spines, Toxin Sacs, Cat, Onslaught
== Elites ==
Doom Of Malan'tai Brood
Doom Of Malan'tai (1)
Mycetic Spore (1)
Hive Guard Brood (3)
Hive Guard Brood (3)
== Troops ==
Tervigon (1) - Crushing Claws, Cluster Spines, AG, Toxin Sacs, Cat, Onslaught, Taken As Troops
Tervigon (1) - Crushing Claws, Cluster Spines, AG, Toxin Sacs, Cat, Onslaught, Taken As Troops
Termagant Brood (10)
Termagant Brood (10)
Broodlord Brood
Broodlord (1) - Scything Talons, Toxin Sacs
Genestealer (4) - Toxin Sacs
Broodlord Brood
Broodlord (1) - Scything Talons, Toxin Sacs
Genestealer (4) - Toxin Sacs
== Total ==
1996 pts.
Alright, so basically, gonna spawn all my scoring units. My 3 Tervy's will roll on Biomancy and be super.
The Swarmlord I figured would go Telekinesis until I got Gate then rest on Biomancy... or should I just go straight for Biomancy?
The Broodlords I don't know what to do with... scout? Outflank? No clue... but they'll probably roll away their abilities onto... ok I don't know what to do with them. I've heard calls for both Telepathy and Telekinesis... Opinions? Or should I do one of each and find out myself? I want Broodlords but no clue what to do with them.
The other major thing concerns broodlords as well. I figure they will just beeline for any ICs and challenge them. Does this mean I should swap out the Toxin Sacs on the whole unit in favor of Implant Attack in hopes of IDing enemy ICs and sergeants?
I don't plan on swapping the Doom's ability out. 1 roll is taking too much of a chance... although rolling Iron Arm would be super cheesy... What do y'all do? Take the chance? I mean he normally dies on the turn he comes down anyways, so why not take the 17% chance of making him godly?
First 6th edition list so feel free to rip it apart. Definitely want to keep at least a broodlord unit and the Doom though.
