1500pt all comers list for review

In a club campaign, with hat-drawn match up's each week.
1500pt lists, that we're allowed to change after each 3 game block, but keeping same warlord.

My 1st 3 games are up, but looking for potential changes worth making.
Pls ask questions and suggest options with your reasoning

My list to date:

Hive Tyrant [255]
- LW+BS, Twin devourers, Toxin, Wings, Leech essence, Paroxysm

- Crushing claws, Cluster spines

Roles:

Tyrant - mainly cos I love the model. Mobile synapse, anti-tank, assassination and anti-flyer vs softer targets.
Hive Guard - safe shooting, anti-tank
Zoanthropes - support synapse, anti-tank, anti MEQ
Lictor - assassination, linebreaker, annoyance, assault support
Tervigon - xtra troops, core synapse, objective holder, anti-tank.
Hormagaunts - fast assaulting broods to distract shooting, kill / tie up enemy units while big guys get in.
Termagants - drop in firebase, neutralise 1st threat and hold up others.
Trygon - combat monster, some light fire support, anti-tank etc....

Honestly...i'd drop toxin of the tyrant...and loosevthe lictor. Use those points for a biovore and two additional powers on the tervigon... I always try to put at least one biovore in any list over 1000...they're effective against crons, guard, orks, tyranids, SoB, and both types of eldar. The extra powers get you a good chance of Iron Arm or Endurance...or take catalyst and use the rest for a couple more hormies...

I think I'll switch my Tyrant's psychic powers for rulebook ones.
Not sure I wanna risk losing the option of Dominion from my tervigon tho as It's been a vital synapse hub so far, many units getting out of range otherwise at crucial moments (ie. when flyrant dies etc)

Regards the lictor he's starting to find a good role in picking up that 'linebreaker' point and foolish unit characters seem to wanna challenge him = dead powerfist etc

Would biovores be worth it? ... and would I really want more than 1?
Most of my foes, although varied are MEQ. There's 2 necron players, 3 chaos marine, 4 marines (various chapters), 2 ork and 1 d.eldar. I can see its use vs DE and Orks, but vs others its gonna be wasted points surely.

How do u keep ur flyrant alive?
I'm having to hide my Tervigon behind buildings until the rest of force is well into enemy.
Zoanthropes are always an easy target for synapse hunters.
All I can think is target saturation.... maybe shifting some points to make my trygon a prime....?

Honestly...i keep my tyrant in reserves to start...then i usually keep my tyrant alive by providing a better target..tervigon up front and center with either Iron Arm or Endurance...plus i always have something dropping in a pod (Doom, Devilfex,Zoeys) and a trygon deepstriking in the backfield to take pressure off the flyrant...

Don't you find it a bit unreliable with the BIG scatter from deep strike.
I've lost a few trygons to scattering off the board = Bad times.

Also I need enough synapse on the board from the start. I played my brothers necrons recently and lost all my zoanthropes and the tervigon (despite them both being in cover and night fighting) in the 1st turn of fire. He still had spare guns to kill 16 of 18 hormagaunts too. It was almost game over right there.
Hence why I tend to hide the tervigon (main synapse and troop provider)
It's also why I'm loathed to give up Dominion to rulebook powers. Esp when I can't choose them.

A single lictor is NOT a character, you need Deathleaper for that.

Single Lictors should also die very easy to shooting as they only have stealth, though can go to ground for 2+ area terrain cover. I have to question how useful that guy is though.

I'd drop a few devilgants as 20 is a lot to try and deepstrike out of a single spore, especially to try and get all of them into firing position.

Honestly have never had a DS mishap with a spore or trygon. I never strike closer than 10" to an edge...and their individual DS rules negate the issues with dangerous/impassable terrain...it just shifts you... As for dominion...I've never used it...my tervi is almost always right behind my gants for TS/AG support...and my flyrant can usually get to anything that may want to run... Trygon prime or zoeys in a pod are just another buffer... Part of it is that i rarely try to cover more board than i can handle...synapse included...unless I've got ymgarls popping up outside of the area i'm currently focused on...

Thanks guys, I may trim back my devilgaunts and try DS the trygon.
Is it worth making trygon a prime from the points I save on devilgaunts then I'll have back table synapse and better shooting when he arives

The issue then becomes keeping the tervi and flyrant alive. All fire power will be focused on them. - I guess this is where u start reminding me to roll for those rulebook psychic powers for saves etc..
There's not much benefit for my tervi to be up the arse of my hormagaunts as he can't buff em, tho with crushing claws he can still open a tank w smash. Suppose that's better than sittin back for synapse and objectives.

Re the lictor, he's turned a couple of battles for me, but I guess for 65pt u can't expect much.
I can't really afford ymgarls vs so many MEQ 10 man squads. Too many get shot just from rapid fire snapshots. Then they're lucky to win their combat with what's left. I've been figuring that if he can distract a unit's firing for a turn that in itself can be good enough. I've not been assaulting him on his own, just hiding then assisting a combat just started to avoid snap fire and later to claim that linebreaker point. Not bad at opening rear armour either.

Its all so tight at 1500pts

Just a thought.... switch out a unit of hormagaunts for gargoyles?
They stand taller and could cover my tervigon or again another DS / flank threat.
