This is some of what I would change about the Tyranid Codex, though I am aware that Games Workshop would never do this for me. They care about money, not their customers.
Hive Guards: Still subject to Instinctive Behaviour - Lurk, but may treat objectives as area terrain, and count as scoring units.
Lictors: All Lictors, including Deathleaper, may assault normally on the turn they arrive. Lictors may treat Deathleaper as an independant character.
The Doom of Malan'Tai: +90 points (180 points). No longer subject to Instinctive Behaviour - Feed, no longer fearless, Synapse Creature, Independant Character. Counts as level 2 psyker, and has standard Zoanthrope powers as well as Cataclysm, but Cataclysm counts as a 2 warp point power.
Mycetic Spores: Extend range of disembark to 6", like a transport from any other army.
Raveners: +20 points (50 points), +1 BS, -1 W. May deepstrike "into" an enemy ground-based unit during the assault phase and counts as assaulting with assault grenades. Jump units that have used their jetpacks/whatever do not count as ground-based.
Carnifexes: -40 points (120 points). May take Armoured Shell (+40 points). May treat Old One Eye as an Independant Character.
Tyrannofexes: Rupture Cannon is (Assault, Blast 2) with AP 3. Scatter is rolled once for both blasts.
Tyranid Warriors & Shrikes: -10 points (20 points & 25 points), -1 W.
Tyranid Prime: Still a brood of one, but 2 may be taken as a single HQ choice.
Enhanced Senses: Enhanced senses may (once again) be taken by Termagants and Gargoyles (+1 point), Tyranid Warriors, Shrikes and Primes (+5 points, also note that Primes do not give a +2 BS bonus to Warriors that do not have Enhanced Senses), Hive Tyrants, Carnifexes, and Tyrannofexes (+10 points)
