Tyranid Units and Psychic Disciplines

Hello hive,

Just wanted to get some opinions from out there about our psyker models and which powers have we come to rely on for each one.

I'm really curious to know, in a competitive game, which psychic powers do the more experienced Tyranid players try to roll for on the psychic discipline tables? Or do you prefer to go for the codex powers?

For Psyker models like:

The Hive Tyrant
Flyrant
Swarmlord
Tervigon
Broodlord
Zoanthrope
Doom of Malan'tai

What do you really want to run them with? And if you have any special tactics or reasons why you try to roll that power I'd like to hear briefly about that too

Generally biomancy is my go to discipline for everything.

If facing nids or low LD, Broodlords will go with telepathy.

If facing a lot of mech, I'll get some TK across my psykers.

swarmlord and all biomancy. throw in a tyrant guard, attach a prime to the unit and you have a 4/6(aka 2/3) chance of getting iron arm. mixed toughness unit takes highest T value if attacked if im not mistaken which would be the tyrants toughness+d3 if you get iron arm.

At 1850 I run 2 Flyrants, a Tervigon, and 2 Broodlords. I use Biomancy for all of them. Other powers can be useful, but I play a lot of Tournament games and I look for consistency as much as possible. Rolling on the one table for everything gives me a good mix of powers that can be reasonably reliable, and my tactics are then similar in multiple situations against a variety of opponents.

Getting OM with Broodlords is great against vehicles, but it's too unreliable for me. Biomancy gives them 4 out of 6 powers they can use, and rolling twice means you only have a 1/18 chance of getting two unusable powers (Witchfire sucks like that).

Biomancy is generally accepted as the go to choice for Nids, but I have seen some lists that work very well with Zoanthropes rolling on Telekinesis, mainly aiming for Telekine Dome.

Hive Tyrant = Biomancy
Swarmlord = Biomancy or Telepathy (for those warp charge 2 disciplines, Hallucination is too good)
Broodlords= Biomancy or Telekenesis or Psychic shreik
Zoanthropes = Is there alot of mech?
A: yes = Do not roll
A: no = psychic shreik, or Telekenesis
(Biomancy is still a viable option here as well. Enfleeble, Endurance, and Iron arm for one of them in a squad of 2 will keep them from insta popping until you get in range for something else and these guys can be considered a support unit)
Tervigon = Biomancy unless you really want FnP on something.

If you are playing against any low leadership armies then telepathy can be substituted for anything.
This is what I go by and works out pretty well for me.

Telepathy can be good in large numbers as a brood of zoanthropes with psychic scream is pretty nasty if used agressively.
