my first 6th edition game coming up wenesday, if my opponent doesn't fly the pink manta flag and bail on me. 1000 points. he'll be fielding orks, i'm bringing my nids most likely though i will have a CSM backup list.
flyrant, X2 devours, wings, leech, paroxism HG X3 termigant X12 termigant X12 tervigon, crushing claws, poison/adrenal glands, X3 powers tervigon, crushing claws, poison/adrenal glands, X3 powers
1000 on the nose. will post results. this is my first time in 6th, feedback is welcome.

we played our first 1000 point game today. well, part of one anyway...
my list is as above. my opponent played orks, with three pairs of buggies, three units of boys in looted wagons, a warboss, 5 bikes and three units of lootas iirc. mission was 'big guns' with 5 objectives, deployment was dawn of war with first turn being night-fighting.
this was our first game at the FLGS, so were a little leery about what to expect. however we were pleasantly surprised, there was plenty of space and lots of good terrain to choose from. staff was friendly, it was just hotter than hell.
we set up the terrain, laid out the objectives (3 ended up on my side, two on his). warlord traits were rolled, he got the one that adds 1" to your charge roll, i got the one that let me roll a extra d6/keep the highest while running. i went biomancy all-around, coming up with:
terv 1: smite, iron arm, warp speed. terv 2: iron arm, enfeeble, endurance flyrant: enfeeble, haemorrage
we deployed. most of his looted wagons and buggies were center and to my left, boyz in the wagons, one unit of lootas in the middle near some ruins, one unit in ruins on an objective to my far right, and one just outside of those same ruins.
i deployed, one unit of gants in ruins out of LoS on an objective far left, terv2 near them in terrain. terv 1 in center, HG in front, gants in front of them, an objective within easy range in front in terrain. flyrant in the middle-ish. one objective in area terrain to the far right. last objective in the open about 15" or so from the lootas in the ruin.
i won roll to go first, he declined to seize. terv1 iron armed to S8, T8. terv2 enduranced the flyrant. the flyrant was just in range of one of the looted wagons and enfeebled it (we forgot to deny the witch). no S or T but makes it check for terrain when it moves at least. no reason not to use it. both tervigons crapped out, but they rolled 15 and 16 respectively. i moved the flyrant laterally to my left 24", checking that it was in range for the BL devourers on the wagon to the far left. moved a unit of 10 gants to the middle objective, with the two larger groups and both tervigons moving to the right, meaning to move towards the center and right objectives. HG moved to the left and forward to get in range of the looters.
we rolled on the mystery objectives table, the one to my left was a skyfire nexus (he had no flyers), the one the lootas were on to my right was a skyfire objective (made me cringe a bit, that one did), and the one in the middle i had just walked onto was, of course, sabotaged.
HG lit the looters up, rolling a mix of 1's and 2's and a single 6 to hit. killed one. flyrant didn't get to shot a damn thing, because when i was fiddling with it when moving it, it was sitting Gentleman Parts-eyed on a piece of terrain. i ended up shifting it back so that it was stable, forgetting that i had it right at 18" from the wagon. this meant it was about a half inch out of range. whoops!
decided not to run the gants off the middle objective, dunno why. also forgot i could just go to ground. S4 ap- large blast hit 7 models, killed 3 after cover. end of my turn 1.
his turn, moved everything forward except the looters in the ruin. boyz in the wagon i hadn't been able to shoot lit the flyrant up with 18 shots (open topped vehicle). 2 hit, i of course failed the grounding test, then failed the FNP for the wound. neither of the shots i took wounded. he proceeded to shoot with nearly everything on that side of the table at the flyrant since he had it on the ground, with it either passing every armor test or FNP the one or two that got through. lost one HG and put a wound on another from buggy fire. lost 3 gants off the squad with 16 from looter fire. we were about to end turn 1 and the flyrant was about to wreak unholy revenge, when...
...one of the game store employees came by and asked if we were getting ready to wrap up. we said we weren't planning on it, he said ok well they close at 7. we checked the time, it was 6:15. soooo, we decided to go ahead and call it.
tyranid victory, 2 objectives to orks 1. no one got linebreaker, both wwarlords were alive, and no entire unit was destroyed so no first blood, either. was a fun game (while it lasted), and had the expected constant rulebook checking due to it being our first game of 6th.

Well it was a start at least!
Don't forget the sabotaged objective only explodes on the roll of a 1 each turn, so it isn't usually too horrific.

next game tomorrow night, no changes planned to list. really do wish i could fit AO on my flyrant though. may end up dropping claws from one tervigon to get points to do do. dunno. thinking.
playing dwayne, so it'll be BT or DA most likely.

ok tonight's game was my above list vs. my friend dwayne's codex marines. it was a brutal and hilarious game, one of the funnest i've had in a very long time. i will have pics later when he sends them, i had my (please do not swear) phone only and it wasn't cooperating.
dwayne's list was something along the lines of: chapter master, power axe
X5 tac marines w/ TL HB, sgt has power axe X6 tac marines w/ TL HB, PF sgt X6 tac marines w/ TL assault cannon, PF sgt
X5 devastators, X4 HB X5 devastators, X4 plasma cannons
mission was the relic, deployment was hammer and anvil. dwayne won the roll off, and elected to have me go first.
my powers were: flyrant iron arm, smite. terv 1 enfeeble, endurance, iron arm. terv 2 enfeeble, lifeleech, warpspeed
i made a bad mistake and had some horrid luck, right off the bat. we had lots of terrain, 2 or 3 pieces in every 2X2 section. large ruin in the middle. relic was placed there. i had sort of a large barrier most of the way laterally across the board on my side and deployed my momma bugs in the two gaps, with gants and HG behind. tervs do their buffs, np, and flyrant rolls double 6's on his perils test. bam, one wound right out of the gate. terv w/ warp speed drops 11 and pops an O ring, other momma keeps on dropping babies through the entire game.
flyrant i deployed aggressively and up close, zooming into maggot range of his HB devastators. i thought i would be able to get enough bugs close to lay both terv's stingers and at least a squad of termagants into them. i was wrong. even with TL shots on the flyrant, i killed one HB guy. i was able to get some termagants to run and grab the relic. HG just out of range of anything, the spot i put them in was not as good as i thought.
dwayne's first turn he kills most of the relic termagants and mauls the center tervigon. puts two wounds on the flyrant.
top of turn two, momma puts out more babies, buffs up to S9/T9, and the flyrant...rolls doube 6's again to die a hideous imploding death that is all my fault. FML, seriously.
HG blow the first transport open, i send 3 squads of termagants up but only one makes it into range because of overwatch shoosting. momma bug in the middle can't make it, (please do not swear) assault roll. momma bug on the side can't make it because of a move through cover roll of 2 during her movement phase.
dwayne's turn 2, he kills the middle tervigon. she just melts. lost 10 gants from one of my starting squads. the terv on the side is laughing as he pours plasma cannon shots and HB rounds into her, managing 1 wound. his command squad mauls the termagant squad but combat still going on.
my turn 3, i make more bugs, buff up. i spawned a batch of 11 or so close to the ruin his HB devs were in. they merrily walked right up, shot the hell out of them. HG blow another transport up. chapter master kills the last of the gants he was in combat with, but there are a LOT of gants around him now.
dwayen's turn 3, the two devastator squads pour fire into my tervigon and do...nothing. T7-9 is really difficult to wound. drops orbital bombardment on the tervigon, doing nothing to her and killing 2 gants. he looses one plasma guy to gets hot. he has two squads out of the trucks now and pours rapid fire bolter shots into everything he can. loose some gants but cover, even at 5+, mitigates a lot of it. the 2nd squad moves up an takes the relic.
at the end of turn 3 it really wasn't looking great for me. he had the relic in a power armor squad at full strength in cover, and had first blood and warlord kill. i had lost over half my army by the end of turn 2.
turn 4 though...well. i kind of wrecked face. my HG were out of synapse and failed IB, but he had moved a squad forward to take the relic and had moved them right into their line of sight (which was good, b/c where they were before, the HG could see nothing and under IB feed they have to see something to shoot it). the tervigon buffed up, spawned like...13 more bugs and moved up. last turn's spawn shot the HB devs, mving to assault range. the terv shot up the chapter master's unit, and 4 other units shot them up. the HG shot up the sqaud with the relic, killing 1. then i assaulted, well, like everything. it was really, really ugly. even after overwatch and h aving to move through dangerous terrain/wrecked vehicle debris i still made it into combat with the tervigon and 3 of the 5 squads i sent in. he killed like...6 gribblies and i killed about half of his guys. at this point, only my HG and one squad of termigants are not engaged in combat with something.
his turn 4 there is nothing he can shoot at effectively. he looses another plasma cannon to gets hot! shooting at the one unengaged squad. he kills a couple of gribblies with PA/PF doods, and i kill half of his remaining forces in the combats.
my turn 5, HG immobilize and stun the last transport. i finish killing all of his troops units and the HB devs. my unengaged squad grabs the relic. at this point he has 3 devastaors in cover in the back, and an immobilized razorback. we called the game at the end of my turn 5, 4-2 tyranid victory. he got first blood and warlord killer, i got relic + linebreaker.
i know i have made a mistake or two in my account above, because upon recall that last razorback was immobilized in turn3 i am nearly positive, and the HG failed at least two IB tests before rallying in turn 5. i hate not taking pictures as i play....
so, after action notes? good showing from dwayne, he didn't really make any mistakes aside from just get buried in a sea of screaming fearless termagants. relic was a funny mission, it's a nice change from the standard 3 back in 5th. if you haven't played it yet, it's essentially murderball.
the end of no reatreat! wounds is a great thing. i do mourn the furious charge nerf though. took a lot of casualties from assaulting through cover w/ no grenades. overwatch is a pain, but so is drowning in a sea of gants. crushingtervifex is an absolute beast. i noticed afterwards i forgot her HoW attack when she moved up to assault the chapter master's squad. i play flyrants too aggressively and they always die stupidly (nearly always my fault).
all in all, a chaotic, fun game, best i've had in a long time.
