Greetings I have just started my Tyranid army and I am looking for advise working out what I want to run. I would like to run a mix between swarm and MC with a nice psyker presence. I want to make sure that every unit I run will work in harmony as part of my list as a whole.
My current plan for when I get to 2000 points looks something like this at the moment:
HQ Hive tyrant of some kind (if he walks i'll get some Tyrant Guard to run around with); Tervigon
Elite: two broods of 3 Zoanthroapes or more
Troop: Tervigon (one will have crushing claws toxin and adrenal glands as I already have that one put together); two broods of 20 Termagants(1 per tervigon); two broods of 10 Termagants(1 per zoanthrope); and a brood of about 20 Hormagaunts with toxin
Fast attack: If I make a flyrant I'll take a brood of 20 Gargoyles and a brood of 3 Shrikes
I want to have at least one unit of something in my list that can deal with heavy infantry like Terminators and Plague Marines. I don't know whats good for that but the few games I have played with my guard tell me that its something I want to have. It would also be nice have something in there that can surprise my opponent and shift the game in my favor. Something like a Trygon deep striking in would be a good example of this kind of thing. Powerful and difficult to predict until its changed how my opponent thought the battle was going. I would also like to have enough targets on the table that it be difficult for my opponent to deal with all of them. The idea is that if my opponent tries to effectively deal with one of my threats then he will be forced to ignore some of the others.
I already have a tervigon, 2 zoanthropes, 12 hormagants, 24 termagants, and a hive tyrent I am trying to figure out how I want to put together.
I forgot about biovores. I would like to try them out and maybe get some if they work well with what I have so far.
