Tyranids 1850 points competitive list?

Hi guys!
Im trying to put together a 1850 points competitive list. I have come up with 2 lists and i would very much like comments and critique. Here goes:

List 1:

So which list do you guys find the best and or should i change something in the list to make it more competitive? Hope to get some feedback!

I like list 2, one critique is you may try to find the points to pod in the fexen.

They are reasonably slow and you don't want them getting killed before they even get to fire.

Yea i have thougt about it but thats 80 pts. i was hoping to cover them behind gants and gargs and running multiple big threats at the same time so they dont get killed to fast. Any thing else? Is it a good list? Have u tryed running something similar and how did that go? And why do u like list 2 over 1?

Sometimes that's a good thing... means that they haven't found any major flaws. There are also many many lists on here and its hard to get them all commented on.

Have you gotten any games in with either of your lists? I personally prefer the 2nd one.

Why do you like list 2 over list 1? Havent run the list with 6ed rules yet - have you tryed something similar?

It's hard to explain, it was just my reaction to it. A unit of 5 Ymgarls is going to struggle to be effective coming out of reserves. However, it will disrupt one of your enemy units.

The other list, is just a little more reliable in terms of output of power and durability. As was mentioned, the Devilfex are going to struggle when they are walking across the board. Even deployed forward, you may be able to get a target turn 1 with them, and it's probably armor 11-12 front at that.

That's maybe an avg of 2 hull points per Carnifex, if it's in range. Therefore your whole army is going to have to move up and take the midfield to really be able to punish your opponent.

With this, you will need most of your units on the board, with the Doom coming in from reserves. This is why the Ymgarls won't be much of a threat. More than anything, they are going to just make your opponent avoid a piece of area terrain.

Both lists are essentially the same thing. I would run them both to see which one you like better...

The only other thing I would do is split your Gargoyles into 2 units of 10 and run them as screens in front of the rest of your army. 20 is great for killing/tarpitting but that's not their purpose in this kind of list. Their purpose is to screen and tie up forward units.
