Need help with my 2000 point list!

Its been awhile since I've played my Nids (I didn't play them much in 5th). Now that 6th is here Nids seemed to get a whole lot better, and this is my first attempt at a 6th Ed list for my Nids. My first real concern with this list is: are there enough models, according to Army Builder this list has 43 models. Is that too few?
My next concern is the choices of Psyker Powers, did I choose the best ones for Nids?

My general thought with this list is to ram everything down my enemy's throat, with of course my Flyrant harassing any Flyers I may face, pretty basic strategy.

Aside from the venomthropes it's fairly cookie cutter. Without them you don't even need two FoCs. Probably easier to get games that way.

If you go for bio on the swarlord, you want just one guard to use the majority toughness rule.

Take Cluster Spines on the Tervigons. IF you get Iron Arm on the Swarmlord (with one Tyrant Guard), you potential could have T7/8/9 Guard aso, as shooting at a target goes of the majority toughness in a unit and since it is 50/50, the Guard will get the Swarmlords toughness.

Personally I would drop the Venomthropes, the Erratas have destroyed them.

I have a hard time dropping Venomthropes because a 5+ cover save for a largely foot-slogging army, to me, is invaluable. Plus if someone tries to assault a unit with Spore Cloud than that unit has to roll dangerous terrain test on everyone he assaults with. All for 110 points, they seem pretty good to me.

You will get that 5+ from terrain the majority of the time (you get quite a bit this edition!) and from cover saves by shooting through units. The rules have changed quite a bit in terms of cover saves in 6th Ed. The Dangerous Terrain tests have also changed - you now get armour saves against them, so you will lucky to inflict wounds half the time (especially against Meq)

I understand the debate over double FOC, but to me and my gaming circle that is a largely debated topic in the Tournament scene (I hate tournaments). Double FOC is a valid rule in the 6th edition rulebook and I like most of my friends think its (please do not swear) that it is typically excluded instead of embraced and dealt with. Sorry for that rant please let me know how this list stacks up! Thanks again...

I wouldn't worry about model count. With two Tervigon, unless the spawning dice hate you, you should add at least 40 bodies each game. That assumes an average of 10 per spawn, with each Tervigon crapping out on the second spawn. If you're that unlucky game after game, toss the dice and get a new set.

Plus, you can't split your psychic selections. If you're going to go with the rule book options, you can't keep Catalyst. It's either all codex powers or all rule book powers.
