Swooping monstrous creatures and deep striking

When a FMC deep strikes it counts as swooping wen it comes into play so if it scatters onto impassable terrain, friendly/enemy units will it still mishap as it can freely stop on impassable terrane and units can move underneath it as long as they end 1" away?

As long as you can place the model on the impassable terrain it's legal according to the BRB

The deepstring rules have nothing to do with how a model can be placed... I think... I have to check when I get home.

Deep strike mishap in the rulebook stats that a mishap happens if any models in the Ds'ing unit cannot be deployed due to landing on impassible terrain. It doesn't spell it out any further but I'd say a swooping FMC would be fine as it can normally be on impassible terrain. By the rulebook, it seems DS'ing units would mishap because they cannot be place on impassible terrains. Jump/Jet Pack units may land on impassible terrain but they treat it as dangerous terrain, but swooping MCs do not, which I think points to them not mishapping on impassible terrain as it doesn't really count as impassible or dangerous to them, unlike all other DS units. I checked the FAQ but it doesn't cover it.

Ok but what about the more likely event of landing on other units? The reason im asking this is im trying to work out if deep strikeing behind an enemy flyer is a viable way of getting to its rear armor without exposeing my tyrant to any of its shooting.

If it lands on other units it's defiantly mishaping, since it can never be deployed on top of other units regardless of their unit type.

Cool thanks guys. Only othere thing i was wondering sice both deep strikeing and blessings/maladictions happen at the start of the movement phase can u still use blessings/maladictions after deep strikeing?

Nope. There's a bit on Pg. 67 that says you can't use "Start of Turn" Powers on the Turn you come in from Reserves.

No, Deep striking is considered part of that unit's movement, so maledictions/blessings occur before the model could be on the table.
