second best gun for a tyrant

Bit of an odd title, I know, but there is a reason for it. I've reassembled my 3rd edition tryant, and I'm considering what to arm it with. My main tyrant is armed pretty conventionally, with twin linked devourers and bonesword/lashwhip, and I want this one to be armed differently, when I want to use something different. I'm giving it a set of scything talons, so I just need to decide on the second set. I'm leaning towards either a stranglethorn cannon, or a second set of talons, but I thought I'd get some opinions.

Just as an aside, I know some people will suggest pinning it, and I thank them for the suggestion, but I won't be pinning this one, its an alternate, plus it would be hard to replace if I stuffed it up

I think the second best gun is indeed Stranglethorn, good for putting lots of wounds on most infantry, or putting in the middle of a group of vehicles seeing as it's full strength now.

Or you could go for talons for re-rolling ALL of the attacks! It does mean you need to be careful about what you assault though due to lack of Lash Whips.


I like the 3rd ed Tyrant as a flyrant. It has a more sleek, avian look which really suits slashing through the air at high speed.
