All,
I don't have a wide variety of models finished yet, but next month is a 1000 points tourney and I want to at least get out and play. That said I could use a little help optomizing my list. Specifically the troops section.
I don't have any tervigons built yet (I have 2 though!) so I know that's a big downer. that said here's what I've got:
HQ's:
Tyranid Prime, w/Dual Boneswords, Deathspitter, Regen
Elites:
Hive Guard x2
Zoanthropes x2
Ymgarl 'stealers x8
Troops:
Warriors x3 w/Deathspitters, Barbed Strangler
Termagants x20
Hormagaunts x22 w/TS
Genestealer x5 w/Broodlord
Prime will stick with zoans and give synapse coverage
Hiveguard is obvious. Gives some anti-air and light anti-mech. Hang out in backfield with warrior squad and provide fire support.
Zoans with be anti-MEQ or anti-heavy armor. Alternatively if I don't need them, roll psychic powers for support.
Ymgarls surprise and kill stuff.
The barbed on the warriors is for pinning tests to support hormagaunt or ymgarl or genestealer assaults.
Question revolves around my troop choices. I have enough models to field another squad of 20 termangants and/or 20 hormagaunts. I have more genestealers (and broodlords) too. With the zoans around I might be able to drop the warriors. I could add in more genestealers or separate small squads as well.
Should I drop the 'stealers and the warriors? Or just one?
Alternatively I could drop the termagants and add in another mini-genestealer squad or another hormagaunt squad for more assaulting goodness.
I'm at a loss as to what to do with the troops. I don't see too many non-tervigon lists these days. Please help!
