Hello Hive!
I've started a small Imperial Guard force based on fluff that i thought up before buying the force. I want to run the fluff past you guys because i think it is a good idea and want to find any way to make it more interesting.
The Fluff:
Essentially, there is a growing Ork Wahg on a planet near a crucial food producing system for the Imperium. The Orks intend to crush the planet, cutting off vital resources to the Imperium and weakening them for later attacks. Every day more and more Orks collect on the planet, their forces growing until a critical mass when the Warboss will charge the system with their growing Armada and wipe them out.
In response to this threat, the Emperor decides to send a large Guardsman force into the heart of the Wahg and hold off the Orks before they can leave their planet and attack the Imperial system. Led by the recently promoted Commissar Pepper (get it?), the Imperial force dives head first into the planet and fights a long, gruesome fight with the growing Wahg.
Commissar Pepper is able to defeat the Ork Wahg, crushing the threat to the Imperial System. Without their knowing, their attack on the Ork planet was only intended to hold off the Orks until a large enough Exterminadues Fleet arrives to take out the Ork Armada and completely purge the planet. Above the victorious Imperial Guard, the Exterminadues fleet arrives among the scattered remains of the destroyed Ork armada.
For a brief moment, the Imperial Guard see the joining allies as savors and friends, but the guns quickly turn to the remaining Imperial ships, bent on destroying any means for the Ork threat to spread. The guns begin to bear down on the planet, wiping out the victorious Imperial Forces in an instant.
Years later, betrayed by their Emperor you sent them on a suicide mission, only to stab them in the back himself, the betrayed souls of the Imperial Guard rise to arms, their spectral bodies commanding ranks of ruined tanks and platoons of paranormal guardsmen trudging forward, determined to fight impossible battles like the ones which finally brought their destruction.
How does it sound?
Thanks for the input guys
Cheers
