Thinks of biting into the Dark Angels Pie .. Help

Hello Hive,

So I was looking for some space marine bits. As I play tyranids and my main enemy being Space Marines, I needed a few chopped up bodies.

To cut it short I found a dark angels Tactical Squad. And I though of putting together a 250 point Dark angels army. Either just to practise/learn the rule by myself with my nids or if I really don't like them... FEED THEM TO MY SWARMLORD.

To the point I have no intention of buying a DA codex or buying more troops to be straight forward. But if I like the army I might make a small list as I build my Tyranid army.

I would appreciate it greatly if you could put together a small list say 250 points ( that would include a tactical squad).

I'd like it to be legal, playable, and as far as 250 points go decent as a playing force.

I don't have a DA codex but I can learn the borrow a codex for games with my DA and my in the far far future when I'm a billionaire I could expand the 250 point force into somethign that can rival my 5000 point tyranids.

I don't think you can even make a legal list for 250 points.. Assuming you have 10 marines the smallest you can do is split the Tactical Squad into two Combat Squads and add a Company Master or Chaplain. Eg:

Dark Angels (280pts)

+ HQ + (100pts)
* Company Master (100pts)
Bolt Pistol, Chainsword

+ Troops + (180pts)
* Tactical Squad (90pts)
4 Tactical Marines (90pts)
* Veteran Sergeant
Bolt Pistol, Chainsword

* Tactical Squad (90pts)
4 Tactical Marines (90pts)
* Veteran Sergeant
Bolt Pistol, Chainsword


With a few flamers, power fists and melta bombs thrown in you are quickly looking at 400 points or so.

Most of the time 250 points is for kill team games, so you would have just one unit of tactical marines as your army, and you would add some elites and what-nots (I don't have kill team rules on-hand).

It is starting to be quite a while since my last Kill Team game... but as far as I remember... the point limit in a game of kill team is 200... Is it not?

Thank you for the replies. But to be honest i spent a long time looking at the dark angels fluff/rules form a mate codex a few hours ago and well..... I hate Dark Angels. The only thing I like about them is the robes/cream colour.

So I decided i will make a GK army to match my tyranids but i will make my own chapter name/character/symbols ( but useing GK codex). I will also give them robes from the Dark Angels customizing spures ( or whatever GW calls them).

What do you think??
